Just wondering how many of you guys who do film protection on the whole car also get it ceramic coated. Or is this overkill? Is $7700 a reasonable price for film protecting the entire car?

I didn't do the whole car, but did the entire front up to the doors, the a-pilars, the rocker panels, mirrors and just behind the rear wheels for $1,900.

I would get get the car coated. It makes it a lot easier to keep clean. Are you planning on doing paint correction? If not, just the coating shouldn't be too painful.

$7700 sounds high to me. I'm in NY and a good shop I know does the entire car for about $5k or so.

I would get 2 more estimates from reputable shops.

$7700 is dealer’s price— called a couple of shops — best one couldn’t take my car until end of March, ugh!

I just had a full car (headlights, mirrors, rockers, everything) xpel PPF along with ceramic coating done on my new Performante. It was $6000 for just the film install plus another $800 for the coating.

To do a whole car cost is roughly $1500 in materials and 2 days labor. $5k is reasonable. $7700 is stupid. I’m lucky whereas my buddy does it for me for $2k...but that’s the you are gonna owe me in the future discount.

    Where are you located?

The price you'll get is VERY dependent on your location.

I finally got to drive my car yesterday on the way to the Xpel shop in Carmel Indiana (Indy Clear Bra). I am doing the entire car with Ceramic Layer for $6500. The owner says the kit will not require any cutting near the paint. 2-3 days time for the install.

You should have pretty good choices for film and radar here. It's winter time so shops are not that busy. Try detailing dynamics in mineola. They do great work and are reasonable (no one who is good will be cheap). I just had my car done last month.

Actually that’s the one I wanted to use but couldn’t squeeze me in until end of March. Seems like business is good!

To wrap an entire car and pay $7,700 is just a complete rip-off.

Materials costing around $1,500 and two 8 hour days even at the inflated price of $50/hour comes out to $2,300. Shops live off new consumers on these spaces, like those who think you can add 20 HP to a car by simply changing the "cold air intake", which is another term for air filter. Ceramic coating on top of PPF is just another way to throw money out the window.

I called a shop that wrapped my car for 1/3 the typical BS price I received (similar to others posted here) and still running perfect with a 10 year guarantee.

Prices are based very heavily on location. In some regions, $7700 would be a cheap price in the most expensive regions. $50/hour for labor would be unsurvivably low for the shop in many areas.

And ceramic coating on top of a clearbra is definitely not a waste of money.

The clearbra 10 year guarantee is only against yellowing and lifting. If a bunch of bugs and bird droppings splatter into the film and etch into it, the film warranty is not going to replace that piece for free. However, a coating will protect against chemical damage such as that, in addition to making the film easier to maintain.
