The back end looks nice and clean. The front face, despite bulging hood, looks like it's moving away from American muscle car and evolving more towards Japanese sports car. I liked the 5th Generation (2010-2015) front end the best. All the best, Andrew.
Ah, that might explain the Asian aesthetics on the front. I just got the precise country wrong. All the best, Andrew.
They probably will look forward to design directive not start with Audi as the reference point. W can hope that some unique Cadillac-ness finds a way to return. AND get real names.
Vision Mercedes-Maybach Ultimate Luxury SUV for the Chinese market. Not quite what I would call sexy but I appreciate the more rounded, muscular, bull dog approach to the styling; unique for a luxury car. Sometimes the best route is not to over sex up the design with swoops and whoops, tone it back a bit. And I' think the details are nice too. -F Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Does it really have a chrome "Ultimate Luxury" plaque on the rear???? Wheel size? They are, at least visually, too large. All electric? Is that a trunk on the front?
Sounds like Mr. Stephenson has been tasked with designing a metal bumblebee. Wonder what he will take his inspiration from? Image Unavailable, Please Login
The exterior doesn't seem to be in sync with the over the top interior appointments! The front and back look chopped off and those 24 inch wheels further add to the impression of a sedan ready to go off roading. Small animals beware; those lower front vents look like they would easily ingest wayward critters...
He better be taking his inspiration from the checkbook because he is on a fool's mission with this pipe dream of an airplane. For his sake hope the investment funds are substantial and it last a while before the tent is collapsed.
With Bell entering the "flying car/taxi" market, and apparently so advanced they have revealed only the passenger compartment in order to prevent anyone from taking inspiraion from their propulsion idea/solution, I just fail to see how company's such as the one Stephenson is under employ will ever get beyond the testing and design phase. It is indeed exciting times this space, however.
Companies like Bell, Sikorsky and Eurocopter are serious with a track record of creating, certifying and then ultimately series production. The others are far more likely to be the latest litter of the market as they find out the real effort and costs necessary to achieve certification.
"I typically make sure that we all start pen on paper sketching, because that is really the only way to get a design or a spark out of your mind. If you go through a computer it loses the human… So I pretty much try to keep the design team on paper as long as possible." And "But good design is absolutely not subjective. There’s good design and bad design, and there are a lot of bad designs out there — not to knock them or criticize — but there are principles for good design that designers typically learn when they’re being educated. If you don’t apply those laws of good design then you’re not going to have a good design." AMEN
