    Seems a bit of shame to dump them all in a rather uninspiring concrete garage and seemingly not have any of them road-registered though. Also, I wonder how many of the red cars were red originally?

    Pleased to confirm that all of the current red ones in that collection were also born red.
    There are also white ones, silvergrey ones, darkred metallic ones and gunmetal grey ones as well.

    Caffiene & Exotics in Atlanta this weekend brought out a prototype between the 512BBi and the Testarossa. This is a factory alloy-bodied car with extensive mods, including many Testarossa engine aspects. The owner mentioned the serial number, but I failed to remember/record it, or photograph it. But, I'm convinced it is a factory one-off and not a private/custom modified car. Fascinating car!

    This is NOT a factory alloy bodied car. And not a factory prototype at all. And not a factory one-off.
    It is a privately customized automobile.

    Not this car again. Owner (at that time) was told back in 2014 that it is not a 'factory original' car by any stretch.

    Just out of curiosity what color was the 1974 365 GT/4 BB that Autocar drove in Italy when the Boxer was introduced. With the quality of color printing in magazines back then the color could be silver or white?

    Do you mean the 25 May 1974 issue? It certainly looks considerably more white than silver, but perhaps just a pre-production paint job in an unofficial colour. I'm not sure the car was driven by Autocar at this time - it's a 'technical description' article, which just goes over the car in a lot of detail. There are no driving impressions that I can see.

    As far as I know, the 5 October 1974 issue was the first time that Autocar got behind the wheel, driving RHD car s/n 17625.

    Hello Ed - thank you for your detailed reply. I don't have that 25 May 1974 copy handy anymore. From your description that sounds like the issue. Some of the pictures are at an old villa where some pictures have also been taken of late 1950's Ferrari automobile much earlier for press photos to. The 365 BB had test plates so maybe they were taken for a ride to the villa and shot some pictures plus in traffic to.
    Was 17625 the dark blue car or was it red like the Boxer on that October Autocar cover? The English magazines were about the only way to get much information about the new Ferrari models back then. R&T magazine didn't drive the fly yellow BB until 1975 as I recall.

    Yes, that's the issue you're thinking of. A full technical rundown by Edward Eves, with a super cutaway drawing by Dick Ellis.

    s/n 17625 - a Blu Dino car - was tested in October 1974, though the car on the cover was a Rosso Chiaro example.
