I have discovered today that I really need the sports exhaust fitting, The Testarossa sure sounds rubbish without one. Issue I have is as always it needs modification first, to covert the US system and fit a nice sports muffler built for a Euro spec setup with require a set of straight through pipes made up, need to find someone local that can do it.
Fantastic to see it out on the open road running; amazing job. But have your installed a "whisper" mode? You NEED that sports exhaust!!!
Cheers Steve, Im really happy with the progress so far. When I was buying this from the previous owner in America I assured him that unlike pretty much anyone else who would buy his project they would quite literally break it up for parts as it was worth more money in Testarossa spares, I promised him I my sole intention and desire was to put this TR back on the road where it belonged, so I am really happy Ive lived up to that promise.
Yes yes yes yes I totally agree and made the Testarossa's apologies to the journalist and photographer regarding the lack of noise from that beautiful flat 12. The Ratarossa is still an ongoing rolling project and I love the way it evolves during this process. The Sports Exhaust is still sitting ready to be fitted but I need some straight through pipes fabricated to convert the US side of the exhaust system and connect to the Euro sports exhaust back box ...... Its high on the list !!!
Getting the car out driving and giving it a shakedown test has revealed a few jobs that need sorting. Firstly was a strong fuel smell and leak, I’ve had the car up on jacks and under tray off to investigate further It looks like I have a small weep from one of the fuel pump connections, I tried tightening it slightly but this didn’t make much difference, I still had a fuel drip buildup after running the car, so time to get covered in petrol and change the brass washers, Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

Photo contest: What's the most awkward place the Ratarossa can be placed and photographed? (nice restaurants, golf clubs, old ladies' tea, etc.) The voice in my brain (when i saw the picture below) said, "UMMMM yeahhhhh you can park THAT around the corner on the side of the building.....by that sign over there....no no!! A little further!"
If I get a chance, I’ll take it to some Ferrari events this summer and gauge the reaction, which so far pretty much goes something along the lines of ...... wtf is that Or ‘is that a kit car’ ?
If you're gonna drive that thing I would highly suggest you replace all those hoses they look original and are way overdue for replacement. I replaced mine with the kit from Scuderia Rampante in the US will probably be good for the remainder of my ownership. Great to see the car on the road!
