Well I know a LOT of you have asked over the years here, about my set. As I have NEVER had an event to use it, in all this time, I suppose I should pass it on. Prefer a sale in America, but I guess the shipping is "just details"....hopefully Albert-LP can jump in here with a fair value? I will go down to the 308 Section and fetch him! Can put up pictures when I get back to Houston, on the road right now. Thanks ya'll!!! Next up,.......cleaning the garage!!
Its the standard 4 pieces, with canvas bags, let me load some pictures in the morning. These are older, but the last time Schedoni offered them in the Factory store, they were 4,100 Euros. No longer available that way though... And mine are not new, they are old. Not sure what that even means! Let me see but interior flaking was not bad when I put them in the closet! Just ready to set them free, hate to, but it is what it is.. Thanks for your inquiry! People have sent me PMs for years, I wish I could let everyone know. I posted about it the Our Section though...
Some say there's a North American vs. Euro dimensional variance. So as this set was purchased in North America, I will go with that as dimensions. Early 308 Euros had slightly deeper trunks. North American insulated the surface over the exhaust.
..well, what's wrong?? These are not loading as IMGs from my iPhone.... Image Unavailable, Please Login
There we go.....whew! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Nice plating on the locks, as you see.....that one piece has a slight splatter on it, in leather finish on top. No idea what that is from!! All zippers good, all locks and keys on the tabs....
OK,. sometimes a beautiful woman has a bump in her nose, you know??? Not THIs one! I was talking about the dreaded INTERIOR flaking! As far as I am concerned this set would be graded "minimal" in that respect, but judge for yourself, and leave my Baton Rouge gf OUT of it!! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Her nose (as well as ALL the rest of her, is well.)...flawless. Per my investigation, so far!! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Look, the shoe bag even has the OEM wool socks!! And more keys and fobs. Not sure about those two empty sleeves? Should those be on the small case carry handles?? Albert!! Where is Albert-LP?? Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
The print is also available at additional cost!! Thanks for looking guys! "Motivated seller", as they say in the business!!! My birthday is this week and Rob will need $50 for ya'll to continue to listen to my adventures!!!
Yes Alan, there are definitively two sets, one for cars without catalysators, one for cars with catalysators. We checked this with Alberto, and did our homework by comparing two sets dimension-wise... BUT there is a simple visual clue to which set you have, without even taking any measure: that clue is the two small cases, the vanity case and the shoe box. The set for non-catalyzed cars (more or less, "Euros") has the handles of the two small cases fold like a pantograph. And its shoe case stands vertically (on its smaller bottom) with the handle at the top of the curved side, transversally. The set for catalyzed cars has the handles of the two small cases fold by simply lying on their side, and the shoe case, when “at rest”, outside of the trunk, lies horizontally on its side (large) with the handle mounted longitudinally on the middle of the curved side. So…to know which set it is, look at the handles of the two small cases, and the shape of the shoe case outside of the trunk: if the handles fold like a pantograph and the shoe case stands on its bottom with the handle at the top of the curved side, it is a set for the Non-Catalysed cars if the handles fold on their side and the shoe case lies on its side, with the handle mounted in the middle of the curved side, it is the catalyzed car’s set; Dimension-wise, the set for catalyzed cars has indeed the two large cases that are about 8/10 of an inch (about 2 cm) shorter in height; but the two flat cases are also shorter in length by about one inch and a half (4cm) with the vanity case (the “cubic” one) compensating this by being actually larger in width than the euro model by two inches. In centimetres (conversion in inches in brackets): - the flat cases are: Catalysed cars set: 76cm in length, 14cm in width and 32,5cm in height (without any part of the handles taken into account) [30 x 5.5 x 12.8in]; Non-catalysed version is 80cm in length, 14cm in width and 34,5cm in height [31.5 x 5.5 x 13.6] - the cubic vanity case is 28 x 24 x 30cm on the Catalysed car’s set, and 25 x 19 x 30cm on the Non-cat set [ 11 x 9.45 x 12 cat set / 10 x 7.5 x 12 Non cat set] And then, back to the simple visual clue: the two small cases of your set have handles that fold on their side; and the shoe case lies on its side, with the handle mounted in the middle of the curved side So: you have a set for a catalyzed car indeed. Rgds And, as a picture is better than a hundred words, look at this well-known pic from the net of a NON-CAT set, and compare the shape of the two small cases with those of your set. Note: The "pantograph" handles The shoe case standing up The vanity case being smaller in width.
Make an offer, it's ready to ship!! I have SO much framed art unhung, it's sickening! I ended up with a lot of the pieces from Vintage Motorcars.... That will be the NEXT thread!! I ran across your F40 model discussion too, did you ever get a replacement?? Shoot me a PM with address and what you want to pay for the print. It's huge!! Replaced it with some oil paintings, of strippers.......which are now hard to see with the surfboards in front of them. I have collected "too much"....
nerofer, I am forever in your debt, for the wealth of information you have shared here!!! Many, many thanks.
eyeman1234 has checked in, with offer...looks like Bertocchi is a "pass".... Anyone? I will be back on the road tonight, but will check back in from San Antonio. Was hoping to land around the $4000USD mark, but..negotiable!! So eyeman1234 asked about my Russian scammer, from the OF thread...she has been replaced, by a REAL person, and all the Houston girls are having fun playing "Guess her age"....it's hard with a Louisiana girl.... She went back to Baton Rouge. I'll bet as they are French in Louisiana, nerofer can provide help on this too!! Thanks everyone for your interest, help with cleaning my closet, and the dating disaster, that is my life!!! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Of course, by the time I get to Baton Rouge to visit, she is back to a summer style, and the guess gets easier!!! Image Unavailable, Please Login
