Who is most likely to lose his seat for 2019,and why? I reckon Hartley will soon be given the boot ,seems to be out of his depth in F1. Grosjean must also be a strong candidate,Haas must be getting a tad tired with his antics. The 'pay drivers' Stroll,Sirotkin and Ericsson will probably remain due to $$$ although Ericsson is really not needed so much at Sauber now that Ferrari are interested in it, no doubt they would prefer to put another rising star in the other car too. Kimi might be eased out but could possibly find another drive in F1,Bottas will most likely retain his drive. Alonso? Up to him i guess ,hope he moves his life on ..he is flogging a dead horse.
I think Hartley is going this year. Grosjean seems likely too I think but one thing is I'm not sure who they would replace him with unless Leclerc gets put there despite all the talk of going to Ferrari (and I hope he doesn't next year but does thereafter). I think Alonso is done at Mclaren.
Ohh i almost forgot stubble van doom, the grey vanilla F1 driver... Not showing much improvement against Alonso, although that in itself is a difficult feat to achieve. If Alonso goes he might be spared otherwise he could also be on the way out.
I feel bad for saying it as he's a nice guy, but I think Hartley. Suffice to say I'm sure he won't have an issue finding a drive elsewhere, indycar or GTE racing, perhaps LMP2/1 in the future.
What about Alonso himself? McLaren will be in shambles for years to come. He may indeed focus the remainder of his racing career on the Indy500 and other fun stuff. There is no future for him in F1. He can now go out and have fun.
I see a difference between losing a seat because a) the driver is replaced mid-season (case of Kvyat), b) hasn't his contract renewed (case of Massa), and c)a driver doesn't wish to carry on in F1 ( case of Rosberg). Hartley could be case 1 Stroll case 2, like Grosjean perhaps Alonso case 3
I like it when a driver finds a new career after F1. That proves that F1 is far from being the pinacle some claim. Look how Jacky Ickx and Emerson Fittipaldi did well after F1.
Hartley but the team has been as much a let down almost for him as well Grosjean possibly Kimi possibly Ericsson
How many times will the Haas team hang their heads after each of Grosjean's shenanigans before he's gone?
How many races left this season? Kimi to Haas would be a good post-Ferrari move for him and Haas, unless Kimi is ready to hang it up for good.
I just mentioned this in another thread here, would absolutely love to see Kimi in a Haas. Surely Haas would benefit from having someone of Kimi's experience in the car, tweaking things here and there. Plus they could really see the car's potential, not that Mag isn't getting consistently good results in the races he finishes, but Kimi is on another level with the experience that a young team could surely benefit from.
The problem is that we Grosjean doesn't crash, he out performs his team mate. Significantly. Haas needs a Hulkenberg.
huh???? (scratching head emoji) Couple of guys will probably lose their seat end 2018 into 2019: Hartley (could'nt make the transition from WEC to F1) Grosjean - yes he crashes..alot..more so for 2018 given his experience in a mid-field car....someimes on his own, Kimi - everyone wants LeClerc (too early still IMO, move him up in the HAAS) but Ferrari seems very interested in signing him for 2019.
I still think Kimi will be around next year in the second Ferrari seat. Admittedly, I want that to be the case but i just don't think Ferrari would take the risk with Leclerc (and i don't think they should as they will likely - though who knows with the changes in the regs - have a championship winning car).
