Not so Ian... piping IS the best way to do fabric/leather seams, makes them much stronger. Colour is a whole different thing...
Perhaps, but contrasting coloured piping has no function and is tasteless. It's just a way to show that you've paid more for your car. And contrasting piping is a British thing, started by RR coachbuilders, it was never part of Italian interiors.
Image Unavailable, Please Login I agree, tan seat trim looks better against black carpet. This is my Queen Mother interior after I restored it. Note the same colour seat piping
looks nice, but the seats are begging for contrast stitching and piping - just like this fine example Image Unavailable, Please Login
Just my opinion of course, but if I was speccing my dream 308 it would be Grigio Argento with silver-grey carpet and navy leather seats (piped, no contrast).
Noooo, you want burgundy leather and black carpet with a grey Ferrari! Just like Joe's 575 - it looks fabulous.
*cough* Dark blue leather, white stitching and blue carpets is what a proper enthusiast would order Image Unavailable, Please Login
