Great ! Those checkers did'nt want to pose on the pictures ?! Pff, Privacy rules. Number plates from witch car ? Guido
After I took the pics, they told me I'm not allowed to take any pics ... Nr plates from Blue, for this one I have something else in mind
Lol! In NL they glued all together like flies to be in the picture with the Mondial when I imported it. As neighbours we clearly have different rules or we as Dutchmen always bend the rules? We very much dislike rules, policies, have no respect the red traffic light and do not listen to the people who drive in the cars with blue lights. It's really a cultural thing!
Damn, it looks amazing !!! But I am still looking for 1 thing, something that even I can't find The small black bezel part of about 3 cm that fits on top of the 2 big front windshield bezels, holding them together. It doesn't have its own part #. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Mine whas lost also. I did make this myself and painted it black. You cant notice it... Image Unavailable, Please Login Guido
I think it's time to replace the injectors. Gas consumption is at 18L/100km (way too high) and when accelerating, you can feel a shocking engine as if combustion in some cylinders is bad. The engine doesn't sound to run stable, too much fluctuation going on. I ordered 8 new BOSCH injectors, will replace them this week. Another possible cause would be the distributors, but as they are new from Superformance, I assume these are OK.
Dropped off Goldfinger at Officina Valenti, making sure everything works for 100% for this weekend at Francorchamps. Fortunately one new issue occurred when I just arrived at the garage: my clutch pedal lost all power and remained floored! One more thing for them to fix The main reason I brought it to the shop is because of an oil leak where the crank shaft comes out of the engine (worn rubber gasket) & the injectors need to be replaced too (feels like the engine currently runs on 4- 7 cylinders). I hope they can fix everything by Friday at the latest.
Well, after 13 years of solving Mondial issues, I don't easily freak out ... and with a good road assistance service of course !
Got the car back and a number of things were done: - Replaced all the injectors with BOSCH units - Replaced the clutch slave cylinder - Replaced the belt tensioners - Replaced the crankshaft seal Result is a perfectly well running engine! Fuel consumption has dropped from 18L/100km to 14L/100km. Last weekend, we had the Red Bay Ferrari Classics weekend (read all about it here: http://redbaycars.com/News/RBFCW2018.html) and the car performed very well! SpaItalia on Sunday drew a large crowd and many pictures were taken of Goldfinger, got a lot of attention and people telling they were impressed by the color. Got myself a nice tail plate for shows... Just found out what the real reason was of the clutch leak... The hydraulic hose at the clutch slave is cracked just behind the head... I will remanufacture some next week! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Got the new clutch hose today! I'll install it this evening just before the Belgium/England soccer game
Hello Stefan, sorry to post here, but I figured this was the easiest to inquire about two parts I was wondering if you have. One is the roof screws. One of my fell out and for the life of me I can't find it. The second is a black rubber grommet thingy. I ordered a missing black side plate from Ricambi, but alas - it did not come with that rubber plug thingy...Neither part prevents usage, and is largely cosmetic - but just trying to make everything complete. Went to the airco expert's shop to have my airco checked. He went through the entire system and found some leaks, the compressor needs to be rebuilt and dryer replaced, which would all take about 2 weeks to complete. Seen the fact that we have a Mondial tour mid September, the rebuilt will have to wait until the end of September. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I have finally found the correct engine for this car! The Mondial 8 engine that's currently in the car will be removed and the Quattrovalvole engine will be fitted in the coming months. Here it is, waiting to be installed in the car again . This engine is in awesome shape, completely original and ran only around 26,000km apparently. Tested and runs perfectly! Working on the replacement engine, with some extra attention for the subframe. I also replaced the timing belts myself (thanks Guido for teaching me how ;-) ), which turned out to be a very simple procedure and with the engine out, it's even easier. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Glad I can help people out...so I deserve that holiday in Rio until March. Image Unavailable, Please Login
