Help F1 gearbox fail.

Good afternoon. A month ago I changed clutch and thrust bearing to an F430. After this, they have traveled 100 km without any problem. After this, it was parked for 3 days and now is where the problem comes from. When I start it, I notice that the gearbox fault light comes on, I make a diagnosis and I get P1742 gear selection position sensor failure. I checked all the wiring, I tried to do self-learning. When I manage to do it, I go out to work on the car, and at 5 kms the same error comes back to me. I'm almost sure that he was able to catch air in the circuit, so I do not know whether to disassemble the actuator to purge or not. Can you give me any advice? Take it back to whoever (hopefully a Ferrari specialist) that did the clutch job on it

 

I gather from the OP's message that he is the mechanic that did this job for a client.

 

Doesn't make sense to me that air in the lines would cause your problem. It is a sensor failure. Inspect the wiring and connectors that may have been pulled on when the transmission was pushed aside to install the clutch.

Did you replace the sensor during the clutch job?

 

How did he catch air in the circuit?

And why couldn't the sensor fail as the code indicates?

Fault found! Defective selection position sensor.

After dismantling the actuator and purging, everything remained the same. So I went back to check the installation already in this case from the TCU. I checked the voltage values, which in the two sensors were correct (5 V), and then proceeded to check the output. In the case of the gear sensor the value was correct (2.49 V), and in the case of the selection sensor it was 0 V. I simulated the correct voltage to check that I could erase the error, and it was.
I have checked all the wiring to the same sensor and the cable is fine, the sensor has no signs of bumps, but the case is that there is no output.
So I'm going to replace the sensor kit and I hope this is solved, unless someone sees that this is not the clear fault and makes me think it could be something else. I see it clearly.

If someone has someone who wants to sell me for not using it, it would be appreciated, but I will opt for those of SCUDERIA.
