I thought it would be nice to have a thread dedicated to the auctions as more McLarens come up to bid. This can be a place to discuss cars coming up as well as results.
This seems well below current asking prices. Did the buyer get a great deal or are P1s starting to drop? https://www.goodingco.com/vehicle/2015-mclaren-p1-4/ 2015 McLaren P1 Finished in Special Carbon Black | Less than 1,700 Miles from New Estimate: $1,800,000 - $2,200,000 SOLD $1,732,500 Chassis: SBM12ABA8FW000156 The example offered here is finished in Carbon Black, a special-order color, and was delivered new to McLaren Philadelphia. Inside, a portrait screen controls the HVAC, navigation, and infotainment systems, and the carbon racing seats have provisions for harnesses. It has covered less than 1,700 miles from new and comes with its original window sticker.
I saw an essentially new 720 go through Barrett Jackson. I believe it topped out at $340K.... no sale.
BJ has "A BUYER’S PREMIUM OF 10% OF FINAL BID PRICE IS PAYABLE FOR ALL VEHICLE LOTS" So all in price for buy would have been $374K and there are several 720s available at that price. Including a white one in the classified ads above (no connection to me) for $350K delivered. But the seller would only get $312.8K after the 8% consignors fee is deducted. Had this sold BJ's gross on it would be $61,200

Mecum Auctions Los Angelos Has an "interesting" 650s The fender flares ($3,080 Carbon Fiber side panels) are not to my liking, but others may love them so to each their own. https://www.mecum.com/lots/LA0218-325673/2015-mclaren-650s-spider/ 2015 MCLAREN 650S SPIDER SBM11FAA4FW004464
This was a no sale, Anyone know what the final bid was? Not that that really tells us anything as Auction houses regularly bid up to just below the reserve.

2018 720S, 320 miles at Barrett-Jackson/Las Vegas sold for $352,000 (all in) special-order Black Amethyst paint (dark purple, looks almost black) gorgeous. Highly optioned - includes the Performance Package, sports exhaust with extensive MSO (McLaren Special Operations) factory additions, including carbon fiber throughout the interior and exterior. Seems like a good deal for buyer.
Mine was the luxury package which is a trade off package to the other. 360/370 tops..... I don't know, do we think the sales price is bad? I think its spot on with a new year now out and no depreciation like a rock. IMHO. GTJOEY1314
You mean for the buyer. I don't understand it anyway, the dealer has many new ones unless the options are crazy. gtjoey1314
That BJ car was a terribly purchase. You could probably order a new one for the same price. Sure, maybe there aren't a ton of Amethyst Black cars available at any given time, but there wait to get a new car couldn't be more than 3-6 months... So the guy paid retail new price for a used car. Weird.
