I changed the steering wheel, instrument panel, the speedometer (85 to 180), the pedals, the shift knob, the seats (Sparco). I still need to get the harness belts. Now, if i had some extra $$$$$$$$$ the Norwood Turbo would be so, say it with me, SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET. Oh YES! Don't forget my oil cooler fan. Huge help in traffic and on the track. http://70.85.40.84/~ferrari/discus/messages/112/326878.html
HI DR COSGROVE I HAVE A 1981 308 AND WOULD LIKE TO INSTALL A FAN ON THE ENGINE SIDE OF OIL COOLER PER YOUR PHOTO'S SO I CRAWLED UNDER 308 AND THERE IS NO WAY YOU CAN SLIP A FAN ON OIL COOLER............I COULD BARELY SEE THE COILS OF THE COOLER AS IT WAS BURIED DEEP, DEEP IN THE GUTS OF THE ENGINE SO, WAS YOUR CONVERSION ON A 308? SOMETHINGS WRONG, HOW COULD YOU GET A CAMERA SO CLOSE AS TO TAKE THOSE PHOTO'S I DID FIND THAT THE LEFT SIDE DOOR AIR SCOOP PROVIDES AIR VIA A DUCT THAT ATTACHES TO THE OIL COOLER PLEASE LET ME KNOW HOW YOU DID IT!
He probably removed the left rear wheel, then the fender liner, and went in that way to the oil cooler. You can replace the clutch that way too. Thor www.JavelinArt.com
Chris, I also meant to ask if those seats sit any lower than the factory originals - I could use an extra inch of headroom when my targa is on. Also, what's the source for the instrument panel plate? Does anyone here have suggestions for installing a good sound system? There just doesn't seem to be enough room in the car to install a set of nice speakers.
I removed the left inner fenderwell. It is really really easy too once it is off. PM me if you need more info
You can see mine at www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=102725 I put Focal speakers in the doors... the best/largest I could get in the stock locations, but it wasn't quite enough. The subwoofer really makes the difference.
Have the same Sparco Roadster seats as Chris, and yes they do allow for more headroom. You'll need the OMP side-mount brackets. To get the seats at their lowermost setting, cut off about 10-inch of the front section of the OMP mounting bracket. You need to make this cut as the Sparco Roadster seat has a lip that interferes with allowing the use of the lowermost bracket-to-seat bolt hole. Sure! Get what is referred to as separates. Then get a 6.5-inch system with the larger speaker in the door and the tweeter mounted to the door or on the dash.
No leather, but for $$$ anything is possible BTW CORRECTION i meant cut ONE INCH off the front of the OMP side seat bracket. It is the OMP low bracket aluminum.
Sorry I didn't get back to you. I'm trying to find the Co. for the MOMO. It's in my other computer, so i got to do some digging.
Do you know if this mod would apply to the 308gt4.?..Just did a road trip and while the ac ducts are producing wery wery cold air..it just doesn't come out in enough volume to have a hope of keeping the cab cool on a hot summer day.
Ok, i'm back. The wheel is "MOMO COMMANDO-R Chrome" i got that from i think the Co. name is LTB something, the seat as you know are Sparco Roadster, i got those cheap on E-bay, the dash panel is from a early 308 78-80 maybe, i got that from Trutlands.
Thanks Chris. If anyone is interested, I found some seats that look a lot like the Sparco's in the JEGS catalog that are available in a tan colored simulated leather that looks like it would match the tan color used in 308's. Price is $199 each.
I know, reviving from the dead, but... Crap canned the points on my dry sump S-127 dizzy. The car was already a breath of fresh air, but after swapping the points for a Crane optical pickup, which is more accurate than a magnet based system, the car starts in less than a second of cranking hot or cold, and is smooth as butter to 8K. The S-127 was spot on in terms of advance when tested on the Sun.
Where to start, so far I have: Bird mans fuse box Had engine upgraded to ~3.4 EFI, 360 crank, custom cams, pistons porting. Redid front to euro style Light mod Headlights replaced with HID Converted bulbs to leds in dash Automatic air bleed on radiator Flat bottom steering wheel for added leg room Lowered front a little Custom radiator Cruise control Euro style rear Adrian’s new tachometer board I have the upgraded oil pressure gauge system yet to be installed Upgraded AC compressor and converted to R134a New carpet set on the way from Italy Removed shielding on headers and had them ceramic coated inside and out ( no heat period in rear) Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app

Italian postage is crazy. But this even applies to just sending items across the Alps. Best from Germany Martin
