Is the guitar in the rocker in memory of Roy? Haha, never mind that, I see the song was done in his memory......
That's a nice touch in a cool video. By my count, only Jeff Lynne and Bob Dylan are still around from the TWs. Maybe the drummer, but I do not know who that was. T
Was at Boardwalk Ferrari this morning getting a little work done on the wife's car. Whomever was in charge of the Muzak was into 60s-70s rock classics! To think Brian May almost forgot this riff. Under Pressure Queen Meet the old boss, same as the new boss... Won't Get Fooled Again The Who T
This was among my YouTube recommendations. Not a bad cover. Morrissey Back on the Chain Gang ...which reminded me how much I like the Chrissie Hynde/Pretenders original... The Pretenders T
That song takes me back. Years ago, I was directing flightline activities for F-15s. Lots of radio chatter, jets taxiing to and fro while I'm doing mental 3d chess for Plan B, C and D. As I was driving to check on the refueling status of one jet (did the truck arrive yet?), with the pilot was standing by... Approaching, I see the Crew Chief give the arm chop, which told me what I needed to know. Meaning, "same as it ever was" i.e. still no fuel truck. Good times indeed. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Image Unavailable, Please Login Very interesting. I wondered, is the symbology of the gesture relating to the demarkations of a typical vehicle fuel gage being divided into quarters? Thanks for sharing that! Kind of a side note on this.....I worked in the paving construction field. We had a 1958 (my birth year) Ford F 600 fuel truck that was converted to a water truck, which in my idle times from equipment and materials delivery I drove for dust control and compaction on new construction. It came from Glenview Naval Air Station shortly before it closed. It had a Thomas Faria Cobra tachometer from the mid ‘60s in it that my boss allowed me remove and keep when the truck was later sold off. We’d done some work at Glenview when the base was in operation and then the paving of paths and lots when it was converted to other use. I was not in the military....thank you Wade with all my heart for your service!
Sweater Weather The Neighbourhood And all I am is a man I want the world in my hands I hate the beach But I stand in California with my toes in the sand Use the sleeves on my sweater Lets have an adventure Head in the clouds but my gravity centered Touch my neck and I'll touch yours You in those little high waisted shorts Oh, she knows what I think about And what I think about One love, two mouths One love, one house No shirts, no blouse Just us, you find out Nothing I really wanna tell you about no 'Cause it's too cold, whoa For you here And now, so let me hold, whoa Both your hands in the holes of my sweater And if I may just take your breath away I don't mind if there's not much to say Sometimes the silence guides your mind So move to a place so far away The goosebumps start to race The minute that my left hand meets your waist And then I watch your face Put my finger on your tongue 'cause you love to taste yeah These hearts adore, everyone the other beat heart is for Inside this place is warm Outside it starts to pour Coming down One love, two mouths One love, one house No shirts, no blouse Just us, you find out Nothing I really wanna tell you about, no no no 'Cause it's too cold, whoa For you here And now, so let me hold, whoa Both your hands in the holes of my sweater 'Cause it's too cold, whoa For you here And now, so let me hold, whoa Both your hands in the holes of my sweater Whoa, whoa, whoa Whoa, whoa whoa Whoa, whoa whoa Whoa, whoa Whoa, whoa whoa Whoa, whoa 'Cause it's too cold, whoa For you here And now, so let me hold, whoa Both your hands in the holes of my sweater It's too cold, whoa For you here And now, so let me hold, whoa Both your hands in the holes of my sweater It's too cold, it's too cold The hands of my sweater
Regarding fuel levels, just the fact that the fuel truck hadn't yet arrived i.e. "same as it ever was". Other than the video, I had never seen anyone do that, and there was no way he knew I'd catch his signal. Thanks, my service time was memorable for sure.
