The other side of the garage you may have seen in the 355 section. I’m very happy with my getaway... Robb Image Unavailable, Please Login
Glass switches were an option for the many round buttons... I have seen the glass ones in person and are night and day above the black plastic ones. https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f=70&t=1692723 http://www.astonmartin.com/en/accessories/v12-vantage/interior/glass-switch-kit https://astonmartinbits.com/models/5-V8-Vantage/parts/4254 Robb Image Unavailable, Please Login
Out for a quick blast for a food out tonight. Weather in AZ is perfect. This car is an absolute blast to drive. It sounds amazing with the new exhaust components. Simply a modern “animal.” Dropping gears and passing brings smiles ear to ear. Robb
Dropped into the authorized dealer yesterday to get the lights switched back to normal - Aston of Scottsdale. The dealer in trying to turn on the daylight running lights months ago had switched the car to “Canadian” so all lights ran all the time... that’s not what I wanted. It is not possible on the vantage to only switch on the front led’s... all the lights are connected. So that is an opportunity lost. You’d have to run parking lights during the day if you like the led’s. But then the taillights will also be on. I didn’t want all my lights on during the day. I also asked the dealer to raise the front headlights because they seemed quite low and cut off. They said because the car had the optional auto-leveling lights, it was not possible. They did wash the car though so that was nice for my time. So today I went back over to the independent shop... They were able to adjust the lighting carriage thru the fender liner to be higher up so that the lights will project further and higher. So kudos to the Indy shop - my preferred place to be. They also adjusted my rear clear tail light which was a little off alignment so it was flush with the tail. (Shown fixed.) No charges. Nice. Another great day of driving. Great car! I had a set of glass switches made by Bamford Rose in England for my 2007. The glass switches weren't an option on the early cars so they have to be custom made to have the correct graphics for the year and the functions. I also had a guy in England make solid stainless steel HVAC, radio, and nav buttons, and I also replaced the boring standard shift knob with a stainless steel knob from a V12 Vantage or DBS. Those changes really add some great details to the interior.
Out to Bass Pro Shops the other day... the Aston stood out a bit in the parking lot with all the 4x4’s Robb Image Unavailable, Please Login
well, I should be getting mine delivered in a few weeks. I have wanted one FOREVER and finally found the exact spec and pulled the trigger. I will post pics when I get it. Thanks for this thread!
Out in the Vantage with my mom for the first time over the weekend. She loves the car. She especially liked the contrast stitching as she got into the car. We didn't even turn on the stereo. Robb
Getting together for a drive with another f-chatter Rick P with his vantage in tungsten silver on Friday. His is an 07 manual with a quicksilver stage 3... I’ll be bringing the cameras. Should be a great comparison with nice photos. Robb
Saw this burgundy vantage at biltmore fashion mall out to get lunch on Thursday. Robb Image Unavailable, Please Login
Great drive today with Rick. Love his car. Tungsten Silver is very nice. Good contrast to my car. I brought the cameras and will process the images over the weekend. His quicksilver exhaust is loud and proud. He’ll have to comment on the exhaust differences between the two. Some with the iPhone... Robb Image Unavailable, Please Login
The master at work.... Image Unavailable, Please Login My car has the loudest version of the Quicksilver exhaust. It’s too loud in all rev ranges imo, but sounds gloriouse. Burrbles, pops and drone etc. Robb’s set up is better for the street. More mild in the lower rev ranges, but unleashes fury when opened up.
I definitely love Fury. So We are doing some passes of each other on the highway. The 05-08 cars definitely have a slightly different sound than 09+ cars. Both excellent. Both very aggressive. Rick’s car sounds great when he opens it up. All the vantage give you that silly grin when you hear them opened up om a flyby. As much fun as the 355 noise... just gruntier. Robb
It is funny that the F355 owners (i am one) also love the Vantage. I have said before that they are not the fastest but are so incredibly beautiful;, and are 2 of my all time favorite sounding V8s. As i think back on all the years here on earth I can help to remember how fortunate we all are to own these (yes hard work comes into play). Also I am in Tucson, I might have to roll up there to say Hi sometime!
So finally had time to finish the photos of Rick's car and our drive. We stopped at one of my favorite spots. Tungsten looks great. Robb Image Unavailable, Please Login
