Anyone see the new Coen bro's film on Netflix, The Ballad of Buster Scruggs? Is it any good?
Ended up seeing it and what a let down. It's not really a movie, but rather 6 short stories that get progressively worse and collectively lasting over 2 hours. I'm a pretty big fan of those guys as I really enjoyed True Grit, Raising Arizona, No Country for Old Men, Fargo, and of course my favorite movie of all time The Big Lebowski.
Previous to this past weekend's Christmas movies, I watched The Equalizer. Parts one and two, back to back. Wow, how did I miss these earlier? And I'm a Denzel fan.
Went to see “they shall not grow old” which is a WW1 film. The film is made from 100 year old Imperial War Museum film. The restoration and colorization is stunning. All the film is narrated by recordings of WW1 vets. Highly recommended.
The trailer looks amazing Looks like Peter Jackson doesn't want the academy award for documentary and released it in Dec instead of Oct. Seems impossible to see. Hopefully a wider release next year in Feb. Box office $$$ is really good for a documentary
I watched too. Except the last 30 mins I recorded to watch today. To much bang bang you dead in the ending scene.
Birdbox...meh So much hype around it, for me was just so so. Netflix series The Sinner was excellent! Sent from my 16M
Travolta as john gotti got some of the worst reviews of all time but I enjoyed it. Gave what feels like a real behind the scenes look at their lives. Very realistic sets, dialog, costumes. I live in a town with lots 2nd gen mafia including gambinos and gottis and now know what it must have been like for them growimg up. Ignore the reviews and try it
There Will Be Blood Probably one of the best movies I've ever seen. Top 5 for sure. I liked it as much as No Country for Old Men, but I think it was a slightly more impressive movie just by set design being a tiebreaker. They sold the late 1800s early 1900s well.
The movie relating the period of Dick Cheney in white house. The performance of Christian Bale is incredible, again.
The Warrior's Way. I liked it for this cold NY evening. Mindless, sword play, gore , unrealistic one good guy vs a thousand bad . Reminded me of Banraku
anyone see the clint eastwood movie the mule? snl had a funny skit on it that made it sound pretty crazy. had no interest in it before but now seems like could be a fun movie.
Beautiful Boy. Steve Carell is excellent. Good movie that makes you think about your children growing up. Sent from my 16M
Never saw "1," and didn't know it was related to "2" and "3." DID see "2" - "Split," and my wife & I liked it quite a bit. Saw previews for "Glass," and we look forward to it.
M Night is overrated. I don't know how or why people let him direct movies. All he had that was decent was The Six Sense. Everything else is crap.
Simple favor. On plane ride to vacay. Excellent throw back to when they used to make movies for adults. Humor, sexy, thrills, all in 1 movie and not a reboot or comic book story. Attractive actors in attractive settings. Used to release these, type movies every week. Lucky now if once yr
The Sixth Sense is an amazing movie, let alone thriller. Everything after that, and I mean everything, is horrible.
