My guess is that it's rather a 488 testing autonomous (or assisted) driving system from Bosch. On another side, I do not believe the future V6 will be called Dino; although it could, because most people have no clue about the positionning of the original Dino.
They can call it just about anything. The 599 GTO wasn't really in the same vain as the original moniker, but didn't seem to matter. A Dino today is just an older expensive Ferrari, so no problem there. If Dinos were selling for 50k it might be an issue, but not really since they are expensive and sought after. And LF is one of the worst names every conceived, but eh, no one minds.
That would be around 365k USD not based on exchange rates but based on what Ferrari seem to be charging in relation to pre tax Euro prices That number is not gonna fly for a V6 hybrid base price IMO
The V6 is more than one year from now; value of money at that time is not known... My guess is that as an upgraded 488FL is will be close to 300K € but still below. The pricing of the FL will be a first indication of the trend; currently in France the 488 GTB is about 230K € with taxes so it would not surprise me that the FL would be around 250K € (could be more since a "naked" Pista is about 320K €). The V6 will be the next step so maybe 280K €... In the mean time the prices for used Ferrari are in free fall so there will be again a clear split between used and new Ferrari buyers; and I may go back to the used cars buyers group
Can you imagine a car called Ford the Ford or Toyota the Toyota. LOL "La Ferrari" is the sweatpants of car names - they just gave up.
Agreed... I believe base price should be around the Portofino Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Some people just don't get it . The 'LaFerrari'. When you own it /or seen it, do you really need to say "I have got/seen a Ferrari LaFerrari" or just "I've got/seen a LaFerrari"? I agree that maybe with Ford or Toyota it wouldn't work well, but with Ferrari it sounds very nice to my ears. Let's ask people in the world what Italian word do they know and like. They start to think ... mhm 'pizza'? ... 'spaghetti'? Tell them - How about 'Ferrari'? Then you hear - Of course, Ferrari, that's obvious! Sorry for going off topic.
off-topic: LaFerrari metaphorically means "the ultimate Ferrari" in Italian. I know it doesn't make sense in English, in Arabic however "la" means "no", hence the "NoFerrari" joke Arabs make.
Not to mention jokes about Toyota MR2 in French . Back to Ferrari - A completely new name for the facelift model is a very interesting/surprising idea.
Is one treated differently by Ferrari if for example they buy used instead of new? Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Of course! If you buy used, Ferrari make no money on selling you a new car. The dealer profits from servicing and they may sell a few parts but as a revenue source you are pretty much nonexistent unless your used car is a FXX, atop HyperCar like a F50 or a classic like a 275 GTB that you decided to restore at the factory Of course ownership of those vehicles counts towards your customer profile and that can mean a lot if your used car is a F50 or an Enzo, however don’t expect to get a Limited Series, just because you own 5 nice cars that you bought used. Speaking from experience, your relationship with the factory starts properly once you establish a track record of buying new cars and preferably from the same dealer Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Writing this now from Maranello. Took the factory tour today. We were not able to see the V8 assembly line; only the V12. Our very kind tour guide informed us that that part of the tour was off limits until March...you can connect the dots as you deem appropriate. This may be the only first hand knowledge on the thread, and it aint much
Apparently we need to give them last few days they choose a good name for the new car. BTW Pista leaked on Feb, 20th so who knows ...
I was told by my dealer today that two new vehicles will be announced in March. 488 replacement and another vehicle priced similar to Portofino.
Interesting news about the V8 line. They must be switching over from the 488 series to the new car now...
