    Hello,

I have found a shop in the UK that specializes in manufacturing suspension components for race cars and exotics.

They have offered to reproduce the rear tie rods for the 599 at a very reasonable price.

Does anyone have a defective one laying around to send it?

    Thank you

So am I missing something? I think I have my old tie rod ends off my 612 from when I replaced them with HE parts. I believe they are the same and could send one along, but I’d need to know why..?

I have found a small company in the UK that has offered to make reproductions at a very competitive price.

They need one as a sample, I only have the ones on my 599, if I remove them I will not be able to move the car.

So your goal is to have them make them for less than HE and either you sell them or they sell them. All good, and I am for competition; I am just trying to understand.

I kind of doubt the engineering that will go into those reproductions will match that of Hill Engineering, but who knows? Personally, I already have HE products on mine and will stick with their products and tools.

    Hello,

Not at all, my idea is to do a trial and if it turns you good then anyone can purchase it from the manufacturer directly.

I have no vested interest or financial gain from this, other than to have a reasonable priced tie rod - available to myself and everyone else.

I find it ridiculous that a simple tie rod costs in excess of 300$.

The quoted price I was given is considerably lower, but it until now only pictures and measurements were provided.

Perhaps, it is more an exercise and an experiment, but that is exactly the point - to find out if it can be done.

As we all know, no one here "needs" to own a Ferrari, it is a passion and enjoyment. This engineering experiment is exactly that, just for the sake of trying and seeing what happens, if we were to just be reasonable, all of us would be driving a Corolla or a VW Golf.

    Hello again,

the member that had offered to look for a used rod was not able to locate one, does anyone else have a used rear tie rod they are willing to donate?
