Hi all! I'm looking to buy an F430, and I was wondering if you know of any differences between the 2005 model and the 2007 model. The dealer says that there are no major differences, but I thought I'd ask you you guys as well since you all seem to have a lot of insight. I appreciate any help/thoughts/opinions! Thanks in advance!

There biggest were changes mostly between 2005 and 2006. There is a thread here that lists them. If I had the link I’d post it.

I had a 2005 coupe, now have a 2008 Spyder. Very similar. F1 transmission seems a little smoother on 2008. Carbon ceramic brakes standard on 2008. Same issues on both - exhaust manifolds and exhaust brackets. Can't go wrong wth either. Both have been extremely reliable with relatively low repair/maintenance costs (20K+ miles on both).

Hi Greyboxer! Just looked at my thread from back then. I remember my question about the comparison between the 2007 and 2008 models, but looks like some people commented on the 2005 and 2006 models as well. Thanks for reminding me! :)

Thanks Setbkk! Good to know! I now have my eye set on a 2005 that has all the right color combinations, and I feel ready to pull the trigger on it as long as the thorough inspection checks out.

I have owned an '05 since new. During the first couple of years there were a number of factory service campaigns that updated mostly minor parts. Any dealer can tell you if all have been performed. More cosmetic options were added after mine was built, especially CF. The manifolds were replaced at about 3 years. So far the mark IIs are fine. O/w the car has been extremely reliable. Each car will drive/feel a little different regardless of year.

Although this is titled stock vs mod... Dan actually points out lots of differences between the two years.

He also offers a F430 buyers guide...

Good luck...hope you find the right one soon:)
