There is a time table on the first page of this thread of the construction of the new building.....they (construction) are on schedule so far.
It almost looks like now it did before they even built that garage complex in 1987. Back then the pits were at the other end of the straightaway, just after the hairpin. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Pits looked like this, LOL: Image Unavailable, Please Login Actual garages were even farther east, beyond the hairpin. Image Unavailable, Please Login Cars were pushed along the "shore" of the Olympic rowing basin from the garages to the pits, allowing for some cool pics (pics are mine). Extra points if you can identify the Lotus "driver": Image Unavailable, Please Login
Those garages were originally build for the rowing teams for the 1976 Olympics! I remember watching the Tyrrell team eating lunch at a long table outside their garage.

LOL, this is like 15 minutes from where I live but I need to visit FerrariChat for an update. Thanks!
;-) I promise to provide the next update when I return home from vacation - provided access to the track is not closed.
So as promised here are some pics snapped on my way home this afternoon. As I noted this is literally a minor detour along one of my routes home. With just over 2 months to go before the race I'd be a little worried if I was the promoter ;-) though looking at the rendering on first page of this thread I realize now the 2nd level above the garages is supposed to be open, LOL, so maybe construction is more advanced than I imagine. Couple of other comments: the track is F-I-I-I-LTHY dirty and full of gravel (abrasive) because of icy winter we had; surprised there are no potholes as we have them even in parking lots with minor traffic this year; pit lane is a dug up trench; lots of work being done also at the exit of turn 4. Wow! I totally forgot about this. No wonder my usual hotel was sold out. So I booked closer to the Longueuil stop. I have had good luck with taxis but may not need to bother now. What do you think? It's the mad crush after the race on Sunday that I would like to avoid. May just walk the bridge as I have done it before!
