Yum. It is worth the line. And $. As I recall though, the line is long, but they really move people along. T
Ha ha ha! My mom doesn't like the food at Costco. I do the hot dogs once per year. I usually remember why they are a once per year indulgence! we went to this place: https://www.tripadvisor.ca/Restaurant_Review-g58771-d433167-Reviews-El_Nopal_Restaurant-Sumas_Washington.html late lunch, early dinner. It was ok. I had the Carnitas de Pollo.

Game Of Thrones starts tonight. My brother is coming over to watch it. We'll probably get pizza. An indy chain, makes ok pies. Or I might get him a pizza at Panago and in the same mall is a Japanese place. I'm craving sashimi!

Sashimi and chopped scallop rolls are winning over pizza. Now my dad wants to go and have a sit down meal. Different Japanese place over my usual. I might give the place next to my dry cleaners a third go. Its very good. But the most expensive in town. Game of Thrones doesn't start until 8:30pm, so lots of time. Still feeding my brother a pizza.
Scallops, for the win! Image Unavailable, Please Login Broccoli, onions, tomatillos - rough chopped, since they're getting blitzed later on. Sweat for a while, then simmer in homemade chicken stock. Add lots of garlic, usual spices. Blitz with a stick blender after everything is soft. Stir in a little cream, pat of butter, whatever cheese was hanging around the house. Simmer a little longer. Easy & tasty soup. T
Rotisserie chicken from Costco and made chicken salad sandwich. Can of tomato soup by Campbells too...……… Didn't feel like going out again today. Tomorrow is the burger special at Triple O's.
Burger and poutine from Triple O's down the hatch. My only complaint is they've gone to paper straws...………………………..
If that's your biggest complaint, Max, you're doing great! Think about it, you could be this poor young man from BC. https://www.google.com/amp/s/beta.ctvnews.ca/local/british-columbia/2019/4/12/1_4378466.html Maybe you can make him a nice home cooked meal to tide him over until his next paycheck?!? Image Unavailable, Please Login Salmon on the barbie. A little salt and pepper. Lime slice. Over a lump charcoal fire with a smidge of oak in it. One of them was "naked" for you know who* I remember seeing an Iron Chef years ago, in which one of the chefs made a dish with crispy salmon skin. Gross, I thought! Then I tried it. Now I grill all my salmon, skin side down. No flipping. And, since the wife won't touch it, and forbids me to feed it to the dog, it's all mine. Image Unavailable, Please Login *You know who. T
I like salmon skin, I've eaten it since I was a kid. My lawyer bought a car and now has no room at his house. So he's going to store a car at mine for a little bit. Hope its his 328GTS and he leaves me the keys! I'll be taking him to the Keg steakhouse or French bistro for dinner. I haven't decided yet!
If he doesn't leave you the 328, take him to some cheap joint! Image Unavailable, Please Login I forgot this from last night. First sweet corn of the season. Not great. But not bad. T
Pic is nothing special... ribeye and corn on the BGE. Steak was really good and corn was ok, better than I was expecting. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Lawyer bought a Ford focus. He's taking it to his house in Mexico. Its his who cares if its stolen car. Took him to the French bistro place, I like their beef dip and poutine. Last night was pesto linguine night. Had a grilled chicken breast with it...………… Not sure about tonight, might get some steaks for the grill. Its sunny today, finally.
Phone is on the fritz, so counting on my wife to be my food blogger. Went to a place in Flower Mound the other night with the local Porsche club. Cool place. They had brisket poutine. So, for Max, I had to order it. Was light on the cheese curds, heavy on the brisket. Enjoyed the jalapeno. Grilled steaks last night...….. Its my brothers birthday tomorrow. So going out with him and the parents tonight. Italian restaurant, local to us. They close on Mondays, so that's why we are going tonight. Typical of the area, its also a Greek restaurant. I might get a Greek dish.
For dinner this week. The chicken will go into the broth and beans, just separate to shred the chicken. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Old schooL Rival crockpot. Image Unavailable, Please Login We had this for lunch, but it was so much food, it effectively turned into dinner for the missus and I. The Porsche club went on a rally, that ended up at 10-50 BBQ in Richardson. Place is huge. Good Q. Ribs may have been the best of the lot. Brisket was quite good. Jalapeno and cheddar sausage didn't have much "heat" to it. IMO Sides good. I particularly enjoyed the spicy pickles. T
Yep, Tom. When I was selling my aunt and uncles home after he passed, my aunt told me to take what I wanted so I grabbed the crockpot. It works great. A little small at times, but it works just fine. Now that I have a patio cover I really hope to start grilling again soon.
