On the one hand it's really really cool and the attention to detail (!) is phenomenal. On the other hand this is kind of weird - it's a display engine for a model that hasn't been made in YEARS. I know they're still out there but I kind of don't get the point. Also if I'm being honest I'm a little annoyed at the very very limited nature of his production. All the work that goes into development, a few lucky (and fairly well-heeled) individuals line up to buy them and then boom! Discontinued and on to the next project. I'd be much happier if at least some of his production stayed available through Shapeways even if he can't afford to stock full kits. An example would be the electrical boxes for the MFH 1/12 488 GTE. They exist, they're on Shapeways, but you can't buy them because he intends them to be part of the full kit - which is gone. Why not let the people who want the boxes buy them from Shapeways even if they can't have all the photoetched stuff to go along with them?
Micheal has not decided yet whether he will offer this kit or not; he is a small operation so making something with all these parts would be a monumental undertaking, I doubt he will offer this. Depsite all that is is amazing what can be done with modern technology.
That's better than nothing but I think a Pista or one of the SP's based off the 488 would have been more interesting. -F
Mmm. The more I think about it the more I'm not a fan of the project or the situation he finds himself in. It's kind of a good problem I guess but it IS a problem. The detail sets. He's not able to meet the demand. The 917/30 set for example. Posted about it and 10 days later orders opened and closed on the same day. He then had to say he would be deciding who he could sell them to. Hopefully first come first served and all that. Not good for the people who tried to order and were denied. I think there were also people left wanting on the 488 GTE kit. Like I said, a good problem for a business to have - but not good for the customer and probably not good for the business in the long term. I'm guessing, as Marcus Lemonis likes to say, that this business just doesn't scale easily.
That's sort of like Ferrari used to be and still is on limited run real cars. It happens. I do admire his work alot. That Sharknose he is working on is amazing as is this peice.
There is no doubt he does amazing work. I'm just not sure I understand it - which is fine, as long as he's happy doing what he's doing that's great.

Emailed ACME twice in the last week requesting an estimate on when the 250 Bertone would be available. No response to either email. Their web site says March 2019. The wait begins.
It looks like a nice kit. Too bad they're currently selling them one-at-a-time on eBay for bids. I would have gone with a "buy it now," but now they're giving me too much time to reconsider my impulse buy.

Sorry for this newbie question on this thread. Friend (Lee) shared this site with me, I haven't been here since I signed up a while ago. Is this the thread to post Ferrari kits for sale also? I have two magazines I publish, Model Cars Magazine and Slot Cars Magazine. I cover a lot of Ferrari models/builds, as well as collections, builders, etc., in both magazines. I have quite a few Ferrari model car kits I have that I want to sell, haven't had much luck on eBay. Thank you for your time. Gregg Hutchings Model Cars Magazine Slot Cars Magazine

I have the FPPM 1/24th 250 GT Bertone and it is stunning. He really has upgraded his wire wheels and they look wonderful. Bumpers also chromed. The lip for the front and rear windscreens are molded in if you choose not to use the photoetch frames, but the side windows are photoetch only. I prefer photoetch as it looks cleaner.
