hello all after long time vacation in thailand today the sun shines here ( even it is still cold ) and I thaught to take the 512BB and the competition out of the garage. the competition started with the 3rd attempt and the BB after about 1 minute fuel pumps running and pushing the gaspedal several times at the 4th attempt. both running really fine after more than 1,5 years not driving. the BB needs new belts, so I know what to do. now about 12 years ago I changed last time. I took some photos ( sorry, cars are not washed ) and wonder what car looks better. so please vote and tell/write your opinion. thank you myself I prefer the BB, would be great to have the twin turbo testarossa engine in the BB Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
You asked so Ill give my opinion. The alterations did nothing to enhance either car and I would say the BB suffered more than the Testarossa.
I kind of agree. Although I do love the look of a TR without the slats. Ferrari should have gone that route on the 512M to modernize the look
Although the Boxer is a bit too mono-color for my taste, the design changes are better integrated on the Boxer IMO. The changes on the TR -- e.g., the stuck-on rear spoiler, the vents cut into the rear bumper, and the missing lower fascia -- just seem haphazard. Should've had a whole new rear bumper/lower fascia that was shaped to better accommodate the revised exhaust outlets and provide those vents. Agree with xplodee that the slat-less TR side adds moderness, but that is a very flattering photo angle/lighting that makes the whole radiator area appear dark black. If you can look in and just see bare radiator when standing next to the car that would hit me as being sort of unfinished. Now, what super-model would you like me to criticize ?
I second that as well... the cars look far better in their original skins... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
You guys like slat-less TRs, eh? Glad to see I'm not the only one. Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my Moto Z2 Play using Tapatalk
no criticize, only like to know what the members here think I agree, but at that time it was "up to date"
What’s the point of a Testarossa if you remove its most distinctive characteristic? No strakes, no go!
I always LOVED the Boxer Koenig, Ever since I was a teenager. Still do, But now, would never want to own one.
mine has also not the silly wide rear fender with the bad looking before testarossa plastics in front of the fenders. but my question has been to my 2 cars, not to different projects from koenig
Romano, your 512 is no Königs Specials. Somebody built only some Königs parts to your 512. A real König 512 hast the mirrors and the front Spoiler. Every real Königs 512 has this... Your Testarossa has the Königs Specials Turbo motor but 355 front, 355 Wing, normal mirrors, normal body.... König was someone else. Koenig was the tuner. Koenig just put on the car, what the customer ordered. NOT more, not less.
tim, you seem to know more from my car than me, even I have all the documents from koenig. so think over what you publish here. also I started this thread here to know what car the members like more and did not want to open a discussion about koenig conversions. so if you like to compare other koenig cars then please open a new thread
His Name was in German Willy König. This is German spelling for oe we have ö.... Willy never built a car with back spoiler but no front spoiler. Too dangerous to drive a mid engine car without front spoiler, if it has more PS....
I have a Koenig Boxer that I have owned since 86 and it came with rear flares, rear spoiler and a rear wing. Factory ft. spoiler
Here are a couple from the other night and a while ago. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my Moto Z2 Play using Tapatalk
I know, but the company was written Koenig Special. Maybe not to be confused with Auto König. Both were in Munich. And to keep it in topic: I prefer the BB, but would prefer an original even more.
There was list with products. The customers did not have a choice ? Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
what does this price list say? That when you crash your front spoiler you must buy a complete aerodynamic kit? No you get each part extra...normal. Did you ever see a König mid engine car without a frontspoiler? Whatt happens with this car at 330 km/h when you have more Downforce at the back but not at the front? Your front gets light as the Miura....König never built such dangerous cars... A Real König has a completebody tuning, other wheels, springs, shocks, brakes, engine tuning.... sideskirt an a back spoiler makes no Königs car.. The firm name was König GmbH.....
