The EU markets historically get the new models first. I would say yes a few F8 models built but with those Pista versions mostly getting priority.
I found this: https://rennlist.com/forums/991-gt3-gt3rs-and-911r/1141244-first-drive-in-991-speedster-9.html As I understand it (which is a big caveat), all U.S. cars will be getting the mesh to replicate the back pressure of the particulate filters—with filters added to U.S. cars somewhere down the road if/when required. Hmm, not sure the point of having a 'dummy GPF' that essentially replicates the real thing? The back pressure is created by the GPF due to its filtering, so, while this sounds plausible it doesn't make much sense to me.
Update: My dealers rep gave a very noncommittal reply along the lines of "F8 has GPF and I was under the impression other models wouldn't be affected until MY2021." In light of the news that MY2020 812 will have GPF, this reply does not add anything to our understanding of if GPF will be installed on MY2020 Pista. I guess when my car shows up, I'll be stoked first and then look for the GPF. If it's not there, I'll be even more stoked.
Attached is the V12 summary. For the V12's Ferrari filed the projected sales section as "confidential" whereas for the V8's they messed up and didn't.
Where are you finding these great docs? Thanks for sharing If you have any more, would enjoy seeing them
Thanks. Now that is two hours of my life I’m not getting back! Interest, the standard section 13-1 “projected sales” is missing or blank in all other documents I reviewed. I’m just Guessing here, but maybe someone messed up on the Pista document and did not ask for a redaction.
Our Tailor Made appointment was last October. The Pista is currently Stage 40. My dealer just received confirmation today that it will definitely NOT have the GPF. I’m honestly not sure if it will be a MY 2019 or 2020. Very relieved. I appreciate all the helpful information posted above. Cheers. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
When Ferrari unveiled the F8 they described extensively the work the GPF has implied for the engine - essentially the F8 engine is a Pista engine with the changes required by the GPF. I don't think Ferrari would ever consider to put this now different engine in the Pista, that's why they currently give priority to Pista production knowing that later the F8 will be the one fulfilling the GPF requirement.
@Bundy Since you have now seen your Pista; was it titled as a 2019 or 2020 model? Apologies if I missed your answer to that question!
