German and Italian GPS were both in 2nd half of season, and should have been 50pts for Vettel, instead of less than 10
But Rossi stayed 3 years on GP2 with just average results. How he can be "that good"? Hey smartass, how old was Michael Schumacher when he retired at Mercedes in 2012? How old is Kimi? Nico is 34, Alonso is 37, Button 39... Barrichello was obviously a joke but if invited he would come back in a heartbeat.
I believe that Riccardo destroyed Vettel at Red Bull. He has been very combative at Renault, just watch the last race. Italians tifosi love him, many have asked the Scuderia to hire him while he as at Red Bull.
Exactly. He led the title race and those potential victories were a large factor in losing that title. The car was fast enough period!!
For me Barnard puts Newey in the shade. JB is a true genius and has had far greater influence on F1 than Newey. If it were my team, Barnard over Newey without question.
The Bathtub was not JB's finest hour ! But at least Ferrari had the right driver to get some results from that POS
I don't think Vettel is 'into it' anymore, he's making F2 level mistakes. I know he said he'll be here next year, but he's got to perform this year. Max being 3rd in the championship is totally unacceptable for Ferrari, and Leclerc is starting to be the shadow caster, at least the last 3 races, crazy they are only 3 points apart (Leclerc/Seb). I'd love to see a young Schumacher by 2021, but that's a risk with 2 young drivers, but maybe what Ferrari needs if Schumacher can deliver. Leclerc/Schumacher would be awesome. I think Leclerc/Verstappen would be toxic, similar to Nico/Lewis or Vettel/Riccardo.
Didn't John Barnard bring carbon fibre chassis to F1 at McLaren ? Didn't John Barnard bring paddle shift gearbox to F1 at Ferrari ? Barnard brought 2 decisive innovations that revolutionised F1. Newey is more of an aerodynamicist, although he designed great cars.
Mick. The team is a couple years, and new management away from being really competitive for a championship. Michael's son is 20? running Formula 2, that's supposed to be the feeder, right? Get him in the #2 seat, give him a couple years of seasoning, and just as Ferrari gets its act together, he's got the seat time that helps him be competitive. Of course the pressure of being MS's son might be a bit much, but he's come up through Ferrari's school, hasn't he? And hell, I'm sure he WANTS to drive F1. Think long term boys, not a next week solution, but given a full off season of simulator driving, and some seat time, he could be the answer. D
All that and more, and frankly Newey rode Barnard's shoulders in aero as well. JB actually reinvented the wind tunnel to be more precise and effective in designing race cars.
Alonso (37), playing coy about his future. Rosberg (34), retired from racing and pursuing other business interests. Button (39), semi-retired doing some WEC and Japanese SuperTouring races and pursuing other business interests. Barrichello (47), retired. Racing is a young man's game Flavio. And, despite all the great memories the aforementioned drivers have provided over the years, there's no way hell that Ferrari would given any of them a glance to fulfill your fantasy. Let it go man. "Crashtappen" was a term previously used by those without a nose. Good job they were not team principal at Red Bull
hahaha, it would be a show every race right? They probably would crash each other out every time though....
