Started a new Ferrari project that I took a gamble on really cheap at $19k, lots of fun but lots of problems.
Spiderscott, I have really enjoyed your previous projects, and as a DIY’er, really look froward to your tackling a front-Engined V12! Good luck, brother!! Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Good deal. I’ve been through most of what you mentioned on my 1995 456 GT. Most problems are solvable. My one issue I cannot fix is the stereo headset. parts are NLA.
Yes, did you notice mine has a missing button, it all works but that gap annoys me. I'm hoping there's a 90s Sony head unit with a similar button I can buy and use.
Hi man, watching your channel for a while. I've got the same idea with the yellow french headlights on my 456 too! Using yellow film though as finding yellow F355 like yours is tough!
Been looking all over for one. Went to a guy in San Diego by the name of radioman. He didn’t have one. A couple of other oem applications those years but nothing on eBay. spuk has a lot of new parts and they are in the U.K. I also think bilstein U.K. will rebuild the shocks but not the upper actuator seal. Only two companies in the us will do that.
Sure, shipping costs from LA to UK door to door was around £1500. Depending on the age of the car the tax differs. My 308s were really cheap as they are over 30 years old. The 456 was then 20% tax and £50 duty (its only £50 duty because Ferrari's are made in the EU
Does it have OBD or is it an earlier one. If not OBD, let's play find the diagnostic connectors and how to get the rear underfloor spoiler to work.
LOL I may have skipped to the engine bit. Found the bit were you mention it's working. Wooden ride = for me that was the pressure balls needed replaced. Individual Rear Lights - that looked interesting !
Yes correct and amazingly the rear lower spoiler actually works on this 456, one thing I don't have to fix ! No ODB socket on the 456 Suspension and ride - Ill come to that in the next video but I have already replaced the accumulators with the bmw ones. Also I'm not sure how much of the filming was done with the ride height bar loose, I discovered it after the shooting some flybys (you can see how high its is on those in the clips). It has improved since fixing the bar .....but its still not perfect. What do you think to the Yellow headlights idea ? My old 355 ones are compatible with 456
Scott- The 97 model 456 GTs and GTAs both have OBDII and Motronic 5.2. The 95s do not and there were no MY96s in the US.
Hi If you can buy a Sony xtc u200 from somewhere the parts are the same. Only difference being the screen colour.
Scott your channel is great and very helpful. Thank you. Looking forward to the work on your lovely 456.
Great Video Spiderscott I have subscribed I have a 456GTA with just about every problem known to man plus a few more HAHA. But I still love it! I also bought mine not running. I also took a gamble on it and luckely got it going. The immobiliser module had died in mine and thats what was stopping it from going. but worked it out and have been restoring it since. so really intersted to see more video's of your restoration. P.S. Mine used to drop back to six cylinders and it turned out an earth lead onto the rocker cover on the left bank wasnt earthing properly. Thought it was earth related and just started checking them all until i found a corroded terminal. fixed it
Typical Italian electrics, Scott? Don't you mean typical German electrics? Bosch immobiliser, Bosch relays, Bosch engine ECUs, Bosch fuel pumps, Bosch ....
Ha ha ha that's a very valid point !!!. However my 'German' components were assembled by italians on a late friday afternoon.
How much of a nuisance is it driving a LHD in the UK? I keep looking at LHD 550's with the idea that I could use it on the continent for holiday drives but I'd like to use it in the UK also.
