For my spec, I did every carbon exterior option and very little interior options as the car comes fully loaded for the most part.

Now I understand everyone has different values and needs, I’ll briefly explain why I did what I did.

Sure if you want to spend unlimited funds, get every option. But for me, as I get older I get a bit smarter and for some of these items, I personally did not see the value. YMMV.

Car play - I didn’t spec it. I’d get this in my s class or 7 series bummer. But for a track focused car- I just didn’t see the need in the car.

Suspension lifter- lots of threads and opinions on this- in 2.5 years of 488 ownership I never needed the lifter. And that is with taking the car up my somewhat steep driveway and up and down from my lift in the garage. When you need a lift it’s when you hit a dip in the road and the car bottoms out. I know lots of people like the lift- I personally did not get it. Extra cost and extra weight. I skipped it.

Homelink- has it my 488- could never get the damn thing to work. I skipped it.

Hi power stereo- Same as apple car play and I had the high end stereo in my 488 and it still sucked. I just got regular radio.

To me I think visual candy is important in this car which is why I got as I mentioned every carbon option but the rest of the stuff seems better suited for. An F8 rather than Pista.

Btw- stripes, shields, horse in headrest- I think are must have options.

    What color did you get?

Thanks! This is good food for thought. You're right that in 5-10 years, no one will care about some of the options like  CarPlay or a "high power" stereo. Hmm. maybe I'll screw around with the specs again.

    Colors I'm considering:

    · Rosso Corsa -- Match my Speciale? And I'm cheap haha
    · Rosso Fuoco -- Because I really really am drawn to a triple layer on the lines of the Pista
    · Rosso Coburn -- Not sure how I can see this one in person though
    · British Racing Green -- Yep, controversial spec for sure
    · Argento Nurburgring (w/ two-tone black top) -- I am really into this right now for some reason -- Is no stripe a stupid idea here?
    · Blue TDF -- I really like Swizzcar's color scheme. I may tweak the stripe a bit

I did blue tdf for my car. I love argento but to me a Pista needs a stripe. And argento two tone with a stripe might be a bit much. I’d do argento with stripes but not two tone.

British racing green with the correct colored accents- bad ass!!!

Yeah, BRG is a spec I love seeing online, but I'm not sure if I'd regret not getting something louder and more exciting. I'm also contemplating a Giallo Triple Strato with a Nero Stellato and Azzuro California Stripe.

    No wrong choices here.

Question- are you keeping the Speciale? If so, maybe do the reverse color of that. Whatever the stripe color is do that as the body color of the Pista and the body color as the stripe.

That would be a kick ass garage

Thanks! I am planning to keep the Speciale at the moment!

One thing that I am hoping to get some help on from the forum: Does anyone know the paint names/codes for gold paint? I'm looking at options of doing gold in the livery, but I cannot find it in the configurator tool.

Fuoco would look great. The Pista has so many great lines and Fuoco will really bring them to life. Not a fan of Rosso Corsa here as it will do the complete opposite and just flatten the surfacee.

It works or not, randomly - sometimes you simply cannot enter, sometimes you enter but full sections are missing (e.g. cars/ my garage), sometimes it works more or less properly...

I’m not sure how useful the Apple car play is given the size of the screen and it’s overall visibility from the drivers seat. On the lusso or other cars with a center dash setup it’s a lot more usable.

I would add the center bridge in carbon as well as all the exterior carbon and engine bay. My one regret was not getting the floor mats - I got them from a aftermarket vendor and while they look better then the stock ones they are applied with Velcro rather than the snap clips. They constantly lift because the aluminum floors don’t make for a good contact surface.

Get the high end audio also the seat lifter.

It's been a little while since I've posted here, so I thought I'd share a quick update.
    1. Login issue has been fixed. Emailing Ferrari Owner's support helped to resolve it ([email protected]). I think it had to do with setting up users for the new app they have.
    2. Car is status 10G. I'll leave the color/livery details to be a bit of a surprise, but there's the planned spec (minus any color information):
      • Exterior:
        • PAC1 - Rear Parking Camera (No Front)
        • MIH2 - Electric Mirrors In/Out + Homelink
        • HELE - Start/Stop (Not Optional)
        • GRDC - Carbon Rear Molding
        • EXAT - Titanium Exhaust Tips
        • ELEV - Front Lift
        • CEXS - Carbon Underdoor Cover
        • CEXG - Carbon Front Airvents
        • CEXD - Carbon Rear Diffuser
        • CEL2 - Carbon Engine Covers
        • CEIS - Carbon Side Air Splitter
        • CEFS - Carbon Front Flaps
        • AFS1 - AFS
      • Interior
        • SND2 - Standard Audio
        • RSCH - Carbon Racing Seats
        • NAVC - Radionavi System + Bluetooth
        • INTC - Alcantara Interior
        • FLMA - Floor Mats
        • EXT1 - Fire Extinguisher
        • CITZ - Carbon Tunnel
    3. Speciale will go on the market this month.

Honestly, I keep going back and forth on the topic. Lots of reasons to keep it, but also lots of reasons to move on. The one thing that really keeps me coming back to keeping it is the way the car sounds and looks on the road. My garage is not big enough to keep it though, so I would need to start going down the route of storing it. Maybe the next purchase is a new house w/ a bigger garage.

I went down that train of thought and even found a few good options for storage. After Corsa Pilota Sport last year and 2 days with the 488 GTB, 488 Pista, and 812 SF, I got home, and the Pista just continued to resonate with me. I had my Speciale fitted with high flow cats + Ti IPE exhaust shortly after I got it, and it's truly been heaven. But I also believe that while it was my dream car for literally decades, the Pista was just so captivating.

I remember feeling really bad when I finally sold my 991.1 GT3 as that was my first Porsche and the very first supercar I ever got to spec from the factory. The Speciale quickly faded those emotions when it arrived -- the GT3 is now more of a sweet memory than than the one that got away.

Is there room for both in my life? Not according to my wife -- who knows, maybe I'll end up searching for one again.

Why did you sell the Pista?
