Finally started out-scoring our bullpen's ability to give up runs! I think we hit an easy part of the schedule, confidence builds, and take it from there...T
Well, today's game was a different one. Which prompted a text from my dad saying "well, that was a waste of time". lol
Mets' management determined tanking for draft pick was best left to another sport. Phils picked up the torch, though.
Negotiating to get a better deal in Phoenix?!? Let them go. Spending civic $$ on sports teams is almost always a waste of dough, if there's a politician with enough backbone to say it. T
I have been to Chase Field and (sorry people of Phoenix) it is one of the ugliest parks I have ever been into. Its all girders and angles and glaring signs everywhere. And it never seems to have a good crowd because its freakin' huge. The upkeep to keep it airconditioned and maintained must be a fortune.
at one point in game last night 8 consecutive Phils struck out. Cubs guy fanned 14 in 6 innings. And MLB seems to think there's a problem because teams aren't putting balls in play? You coulda watched three full innings of baseball without seeing a fielding play. Gave Costas a chance to talk about his major league coaching career with the A's
Dodgers set Major League record for total number of home runs in five straight games. And did it on the road! Dodgers set MLB record with homer barrage Smith tags 4th long ball of night to give LA 22 in 5 games https://www.mlb.com/news/dodgers-set-five-game-home-run-record
Yordan Alvarez Killing it ! .344 BA 19 HR 55 RBI - 52 games. 1.145 OPS Best rookie production since 1920 - first 52 games. He is not unknown, to MLB pitchers. AL - ROY
Tonight's MLB game in Willliamsport is such a fun event, with the Little Leaguers interacting with their heroes and getting to see a real MLB game up close. It's a concept that should have been created years earlier.
Springer hit his 34th career lead-off home run. He's behind Biggio who had 53, Springer could easily surpass that at this point. Oh, and Altuve hit a homer right after.
Was Yuli batting behind Yordan? That's one hell of a conundrum. Walking him only to face another big hitter.
Dodgers and Yanks will win 220+ games combined and then get beat in first round of playoffs. That's too bad.
Dodger relief pitching is very suspect. It's the long ball that is saving them. They have like 6 guys in every line up who can pop one out, and often do. They must lead the majors in walk off victories because of their hitting ability. But its the relief pitching failure that put them in that spot too often.
