So I know I have a little bit of play in my lower wishbones esp on RHS in my F43o spider, Ferrari dealer at 27k service said both needed replacing, and I trust him, he lets me buy and supply my own OEM parts, so he has little incentive to say otherwise. My question is can the original units be refurbished and resold as these are not cheap ?

Depends on where the play is originating from...have you thought about just replacing bushings/ball joints?

Well I have ordered new items due to time restrictions but am thinking of refurbishing my originals for resale or reuse as they are $1,000 each

Are you sure he is not having you on, the ball joint is £115 , the 2 seals are £37 total and the Flambloc is £78 from Superperformance in the uk.
That assumes every part is worn- normally you just change the ball joint and seals so £152 in parts and about 2 hours work. DIY job
If you need new arms the part where the ball joint fits would have to be worn but never seen a worn one yet. If it is worn in this area then it is scrap

thks Mike, the ball joint needs pressing into the arm, with a special tool or not ?

    some big sockets will do

but i assume big sockets can be called special tool, too. not everybody has it, not a regular tool to be used daily in professional shops

You need a tool to press out the old one, but you can use it to press it back in. You can get the tool from superperformance for about £70
Note, if u r doing upper and lower ball joints the tool is different so 2x £70
You can make one up with a bit of screwbar and a big socket
Also do not fit oem ferrari ball joints or you will be doing the same job in a few years, the hill engineering ones are stainless and should last a life time.
Go onto the superperformance uk site, then V8, then 430 suspension and you will see all the bits u need but avoid ferrari ball joints

If u fancy doing yourself i have a script on how to do it, which i can e mail you. Nothing hard about it and u will save a lot of money- £400 each in labour costs in uk, hence i did my own

Just a note to say that even Hills will wear out over time, but this is dependent on the mileage covered and more importantly the quality of road surface on which the car is driven.
