Guys...I have an ‘83 308 GTS QV. Missing the proper nuts that hold down the battery lid under the spare tire. They are thumb nuts. Several are available from Ricambi America. Can anyone with a QV please take a pic of theirs or know the proper part number?
    Is this it?

You need the c clip retainer also, of course.

That's what my 76 -77s had, not sure when it updated to something else..??

In the groove, underneath the lid.....the clips hold the knob where it's a captive part where it comes off with the cover.

They "match" the air cleaner knobs on the early carbed cars, which unless you epoxy the shaft, shake off in Death Valley, somewhere near Barstow.

The Battery lid is a much larger bolt/stud, but the nuts look the same...there is no "C Clip" groove on the air box nuts.. I have one extra OEM battery lid, and about five "clones" if anyone needs one...

The hole in the lid should be the diameter of the lower boss, then the c clip holds it, to turn freely on the stud, but remain captive when the cover comes loose from the studs.

Not all came with the clips. My 85 did not have them when I bought it, new.

Good info. So yours just had those thumb nuts and nothing else attached to them?

Did anyone ver find source for the unique "C" clips? I seem to recall that some were looking.

I think they are unobtainable. Perhaps someone has a source ?

Maybe Ferrari couldn't source them any longer, either. ;)

I’ve just been using the common C clip from your local hardware store

My 328, when I bought it, only had one c-clip on the battery cover:
a regular c-clip, not the fancy X-shaped one shown above.

It's a real PITA to install the battery cover when there's only one c-clip.
You have to hold up the other side of the lid, as the knob binds when the lid is tilted.

So I got a box of generic C-clips off Amazon:
    https://www.amazon.com/Neiko-50455A-Clip-Assortment-Count/dp/B000K7GRDW
(Tacked it onto another order, to get up to the $25 "free shipping" level.)

Took a little oomph to get it clipped onto the knob, but it works.

You have to screw down both knobs together, as the knob and clip binds if the lid isn't level.
But it keeps you from losing the knobs.
(Small parts have a magical ability to vanish in a garage. ;))

Nice! I think those types of clips are available at Home Depot or Lowes in those specialized parts bins they have there. When I get the knobs, I will bring one with me to get the one that fits correctly.

The Lowes here is terrible, and there's no Home Depot nearby.
But, for under $10, that pack had enough variety that I figured there'd be one that fit.
(And, for the rest, I keep finding uses for things lying around the house. ;))

Got the nuts from Ricambi. Put them on and they hold the lid down snugly in place. I may not even bother with the clips now. Thanks for all your help everyone.
