Absolutely sure you’ve no idea why I responded in the first place. Moving on, was the GT Spider the GT40, or an ‘05 GT? I’d not heard of it, certainly had interest in GT40. I’m a 1/25-1/25 collector mostly unless the topic is irresistible or too fun to pass by. In the fun vein, a friend brought me a Meccano Ferrari F1 car kit. Absolutely awful replica that is a lot of fun. Hadn’t seen Meccano in decades. I’ll try to post a pic next time it’s handy. I haven’t checked the QR diecast thread lately but there’s a Tintin based diecast collection I’ve seen on eBay. One is an alleged 1/24 B20 Lancia, pics not good enough to see fidelity.
Looking forward to this Alfa Romeo Monza in 1/12th scale by Italeri, all new tool. The wire wheels need more work, but the motor and body vents look very nice. Could be a stunner with corrected wheels. We will see if they do a upgrade wheel kit or if we will have to rely on aftermarket wheels. Potential there. Nothing some hand-laced wires can't fix. Fernando may be working on some soon I'd think. Engine has some gorgeous castings for blower/intakes, can't wait to see. Peter Sachs ran his 1:1 a lot, if you ever get to hear one, you'll never forget it. Evil. Just evil. FYI Scale Motorsport has detail-up for RG Ford GT, I'd heard. No details, but first new product in awhile.
Man, that looks nice....good choice in that scale for Italeri, especially considering it will most likely be reasonably affordable...
Hiro has released this years 488 Lemans class winner. They won't show the body so I assume it is unlicensed and limited. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Lol. Is that the real class winner, or the 0.1L over DQ runner up. ACO needs less mathematics, more racing. MFH will still get a cease and desist letter I’m sure. Sad. For off-road fans, RG doing new tool of 109 Defender 4 door. Old Esci 109 two door coming back, as well as the 2 door Rangie. Aoshima finally reissuing the four door Rangie too. Plethora of fun cars to be built. Sad few use their Rangies off road. Really ticked off my wife when I tore the bumper off her Rhino at the ranch. Awesome trucks.
SMP24 Ferrari P5 in 1/24th almost ready. Also the DDP models Alfa TT12 in 1/24th scale is ready and the Dino 166/206 mountain car will be out soon. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
The Alfa T33 TT12 is around 150.00 to 200.00 US dollars including shipping from DDP depending on where you live. More photos of the Alfa Monza from Italeri in 1/12th scale. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Inevitable I guess. I sure wish Hiro would do some Can-Am cars. He could at least do a 350 Can-Am...all he'd really need to do is a body and a few other modifications to go with his existing 330 P4 kit. How about Donohue's Lola T-70? In 1/12 scale, that car would be an absolute knockout. A couple of Shadows, maybe? Do I hear a McLaren M8?? Chaparral 2H? Don't say these are too obscure...remember, Hiro did Senna's Toleman....
Any Chaparral in 1/12th would be great. Hiro does not seem to do many American race series cars. A lot of people also want the 333SP, but don't forget it was made for IMSA.
We had ex Hill high wings car. I have minimal pics of it, but god what a car. Need that variant. One of the prettiest. If you’re ever near Midland TX Jim Hall’s cars are at petroleum institute. They run one usually monthly. Ran 2J a couple mos ago. Lol. What a car.
More Italeri Monza photos. Looks almost ready. FPPM says he will make hand laced wire wheels for it if demand looks good. "Our preview leaflet dedicated to the New Alfa Romeo 8C 2300 Monza 1:12 scale (100% new moulds). Next week we will continue to post the assemby and painting test pictures and we will bring to the launch planned for end of October." Other than the wire wheels this looks better than the larger Pocher. Fernando Pinto can help with the wire wheels but I would love a detail set and a Touring body conversion kit. It looks like the next 1/12th scale Hiro kits(several versions) will be Porsche 908's, both 908/2's and 908/3's. Rear wheel photo show's 1968 Dunlop's and the second photo is of a 908/3 front. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Well only the 908/3 in 1/12th scale wich is not my favorite car(with Martini markings it's lipstick on a pig). Image Unavailable, Please Login
If the 1/12 is tooled off the same CAD dataset as the 1/43, the nose will, once again, be wrong. Hiro got it too "flat"...too dished-in. Hopefully he'll fix that in the larger scale.
