Incongruent, but not as bad as this other sacrilegious modification of yet another Gandini design. Image Unavailable, Please Login That's there for a performance issue, BIG PERFORMANCE! But this one is truly hideous! https://www.gullwingmotor.com/Listing/206440/1970-Lamborghini-Espada.aspx I won't post the photo ... So this Khamsin 's modification seems rather tame by comparison but the attempt at "rounding" of the styling is just all wrong.
This appears to be the car photographed in Brunei (a Right hand drive country) sone years ago, chassis number unknown. Not sure if it is part of the Sultan's (now largely dormant) collection masterminded essentially by his brother Jeffrey. Good find Joe. Any hint as to whether it is there or in the UK, Australia Japan? Edit: that company INITIAL seen on the van is...a French company though perhaps they are active in other countries and the white car appears to have an EU number plate. The types of cars around the K would possibly indicate that there is a luxury car shipping company involved... Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hi all I have seen pics ot this car several times first in Brunei with a V8 installed but not yet modified, so unsure if it is in effect the same car: http://puffupthesmoke.blogspot.ch/2008/05/maserati-khimson.html then in Christchurch, New Zealand, modified, Grey colour, and for sale by Dutton Garage: https://www.thepictame.com/share/BhvZEn9jEAU then again in Blue colour, posted by Sergej Kosharson, so maybe in Russia now?, or any other country, see the cars around. https://gramha.net/media/2101644522145883718 Best regards, Roger
Thanks for that Roger, yes hard to correlate the first one with the other two which are clearly the same one. But then again how many K's can have been in Brunei? That instagram post seems to say it is in Moscow but a lot of his posts were shot in London and the sign on a building says factors and it is not in cyrillic...but there is a factors.ru company in Russia...will aim to find out more... https://www.instagram.com/sergei.kosharson/
Hi Guy’s Need some help on a part! Does anyone know where to get this cilinder for the clutch? Suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Cheers Martijn Image Unavailable, Please Login Verzonden vanaf mijn iPhone met FerrariChat
This is probably in London at DD Classics: http://ddclassics.com/about/ Found this by searching for the Ford with licence plate WXG933: http://ddclassics.com/car-listing/ford-deluxe-restomod-lhd/ They have a nice collection!
Bedankt Sir, good sleuthing, I was going to contact the New Zealand dealer https://duttongarage.com/contact but will email DD tomorrow morning and see what shakes out.
Do you know the part number of the cylinder you are looking for? If you can come up with it I can check to see if is in my inventory.
Looks like one on the move for you to update your records Marc. https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C1158298 Bal
Hi Bal, That is the car of J W who was with us at K40. 351 if I recall correctly, am not at home. I tried to help him find a buyer earlier this year but he was too ambitious price wise. It is also the car in the 1986 six part restoration article in Cars magazine. It was repainted properly last winter.
Looking at a youtube video of the 1973 Earls Court Motorshow in London I saw a Khamsin (see video, at about 2:10). This must have been in October 1973. The commentator calls it a Merak but I'm pretty sure it is a Khamsin It seems to be LHD, and in this colour and with the crossed wipers it looks the same as the car I saw earlier in an Indonesian magazine photo. Must be a very early car, or even a prototype?
Thanks for this AMLC I will ask Fabio to look up that event's log to root out the chassis number and will report back. I think it is a car used in some publicity shots with weird carpet colors.
Hmmm could that be 010 by any chance.. looks the same in the outside at least.. Sent from my LM-G710 using Tapatalk
I asked Fabio, answer in next few days. I will also email DD Classics about souped up ex Brunei, New Zealand K. Just hyper busy now, need holiday...
Great news for you Richard: Fabio has looked a the archives and the only early car with these colors is AM120-010, your car, so 010 is indeed the car of the 73 London Motorshow. The reason why a left hand drive car was shown in a UK show is that right hand drive Khamsin production had not yet begun.
Hi all Some cars are popping up again, two in Poland and one in Germany, and all came from the US: #1096 https://gramho.com/media/2147887741316381434 #1304 https://www.instazu.com/tag/dubeltowo #368 (thought to be scrapped, sold as spares) https://www.instagram.com/p/B2082NXoCQj/ If you read me, congratulation for taking on the job on these cars! Best regards Roger
Well the announcer got one thing right... in his intro. "The Maserati Merak... For the deserving poor". Which word best describes the owner? Thank you Marc for confirming this... I've saved a local copy for the books Richard Here is a newer photo from my little fall drive yesterday.. Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my LM-G710 using Tapatalk
