It's going to be hard for many to accept the changing Ferrari reality.

The diehard, the I've bought 10 and my dealer loves me and no one else, the Ferrari is the most exclusive car in the world, the Ferrari is for the privileged few can buy one new...are all going to be SO disappointed in the next 5 years.

Bring on the SUV and over produced cars. We all need those in order for Ferrari to keep funding R&D on a few gems here and there.

Guys - this was my post that is referenced above. Couple of notes. I have a 12 year relationship with my Ferrari dealership. I know them all very well (I was visiting there long before I purchased my first one). I have bought 2 used Ferrari's from them and 1 Maserati (back when they owned that dealership). I also put my deposit down the day after the F8 was announced. I believe I got the third allocation at my dealership (not 100% sure) and I know for a fact that they have better customers than me............but I pay cash every time and I have been a great ambassador for the brand. Not everything is about how many Ferrari's you have purchased and if they are new. Dealerships know who are the really Ferrari. Mine is on order and scheduled to start production in Jan.

My god...my claim is that I accurately reported what I was told. You know that Summer 2020 is Q3 2020 right? If you have different info, just stay calm and share it. That’s what these forum are for. Really?

Thanks to the other posters above for their comments.

I’m not sure why everyone thinks that allocations are on a first come first serve basis .

Thry may or maybe not take deposits and put you on the list . The 15th person putting down a deposit could be the first one getting an allocation . Dealers create their own requirements of what order to give allocations to customers

I placed an order in July and will not see the car until
Late 2020 or later. Still nothing definite. Placing an order today will result in receiving delivery until sometime in 2021. This is the information originating directly from my rep at Ferrari Ontario.

Allocations are not secured on a first come basis. Those with Ferrari buying history are given priority.

Good post, factual and useful. It’s interesting that also got my info directly from my rep at the same dealer and he had a different story. Maybe my rep is aggressive to get a deposit, or yours is conservative to manage expectations, or neither really know. Or there’s something else going on like a last minute cancellation. Who knows. So many possible explanations other than people here making false claims.

Let’s go back to our main program and the OP’s question...I believe the answer to your question is yes. If you’re in the East, you may want to compare delivery target date between the dealer in Toronto and the one in Montreal. As illustrated by the exchange above, even within the same dealership, the target delivery date appears to vary.
