I guess sometimes things work out! I realize some of you have said anyone could get a Pista, I wasn't having any luck. But I got a call last week (from a dealer I had previously purchased a used 488 GTB) for a build that came available but I had to make a decision that day. Pulled the trigger and can't wait! Loaded Rosso Corsa build with carbon fibre wheels!

The crazy part is I had just locked on my 812 Superfast build (with another dealer) so it will be Christmas this Spring with a 812 in February and a Pista in March!

Just got in to Ferrari this year. Pre-traded in my F12 and Speciale as part of these orders so I am Ferrari-less until Spring.

did they let you to order the carbon wheels now?

in June when I locked my TM specs for Pista Spider they didn't let me to choose the carbon wheels cause sold out
so may be now they can be ordered also as genuine accessories

btw congrats and enjoy in good health!!!

That’s nice news and hope you enjoy, some very experienced owners are saying it’s very special, mine just landed and I can’t wait to see it in 10 days or so

Fair point except I bought the F12, Speciale, 488 GTB and Superfast all from different dealers and only the 488 GTB (used) from the dealer who offered me the allocation. I think it was because the salesperson knew I could move quickly given the limited window to accept.

Wonderful news and congrats...being able to pull the trigger quickly and decisively makes all the difference. When my dealer called me last July with the Pista news, I confirmed on the spot. If I hadn't, I'm quite sure that the next guy would have!

Well done and hopefully the wait won't drive you crazy :)

Are you sure you want to do carbon fiber wheels? Looks great but all it takes is just one pothole....

I ordered a second set in silver as well. I'll use the carbon for times when I know the roads are safe and the silver set for rallies, etc.

The CF wheels can now be ordered with any Pista and F8, and can also be purchased as an aftersales accessory. The latter is common in places where purchasing "bolt-on" options with the car, will be added to the price used to calculate the registration fee, whereas purchasing them as a "normal" accessory will just add the usual VAT etc. Very common here in Denmark where the registration fee is about 160% of the complete car value. If you order the wheels with the car, the price of the wheels will be added to the figure they use to calculate the registration fee. So in essence a 10k set of wheels end up being 26k if you purchase them with the car and they are part of the price sent to the IRS.

In Denmark, if you purchase a $300000 car, when you register it, the fee is $180000!!!!. Are there any other taxes or VAT applicable?

No. It's broken down like this. 160 is actually a bit high.

Cars price without VAT and registration fee = 300000
Registration fee is calculated like this. I go by 6.6 Danish Krone per usd.
We pay 85% registration fee of the first 28000 usd,
    28000 x 0.85 = 23800.
    28000 + 23800 = 51800usd.
Then we pay 150 % of the remaining 272000 usd.
    272000 x 1.5 = 408000 usd,
    272000 + 40800 = 680000 usd.
For the total price including registration fee,
    51800 + 680000 = 731800 usd.

Finally we add a 25% vat to that.
So, a car that cost 300000 usd w/o any taxes or VAT ends up having a price of....

    914750 usd....

Yep. A Pista can easily end up costing well over a million USD up here.

Pretty much similar price in China, and Pista have already dropped its price under sticker by a lot in the Used market in China.

No. I think we take first prize.

It used to be 180% for the whole amount until 2017 though.....:p

But let's be real. There are ways to make things more digestible. No rules without exceptions.
