Does any one on here travel on the Sydney to Canberra M31 regularly, and noticed the speed of the traffic being well above what plod likes?

What a cracking endorsement for the proper enthusiast... https://www.pistonheads.com/news/ph-driven/aston-martin-vantage-amr---driven/41162
I believe all sports car manufacturers should atleast provide the option for a manual box. It’s not that hard!!!
Jeez limited edition only. That just tells you the manual box is nothing more than a novelty in this day and age.
Well I'm not shore how much piss you're taking with your comment but there is quite a deal wrong about this report and the bloke roped in to do it. Wet,LHD,a bloke who has now gotten used to waay too much electronic imput,a gearbox pattern he's not had experience at for a while..."Owning a car with a dog-leg box myself - although with increasingly distant memories of actually driving it " and yes having a big knob doesn't help either..
Not quite... Just 200 of the Vantage AMR will be produced, but I didn't actually get to drive one. Aston says it wants to keep the cars for the customers, so the press demonstrators were all normal Vantages that had been brought up to pretty much the same spec. That's alright, because once the AMRs are sold the company plans to continue to offer the manual transmission as an ongoing option with the regular Vantage. Whether Aston will ever attempt anything similar depends on how many times that order form box gets ticked.
I'm with you I owned a car for 20 years with a dogleg first it becomes an intrinsic action and hes right the gear knob is very KIA ish, Interesting In his commentary he said because of the investment to fit a manual, it should be available in the base model, and how about the weight saving over the auto.
History shows that when a manufacturer offers the option of a manual box not enough people buy it. It really is that simple. It's also obvious to anyone whom actually drives these modern cars that the old way is inferior. Ask yourself: All of those who bleat the loudest about manual boxes also usually say that modern cars are rubbish, not "proper" Ferraris etc. etc. The people whom actually buy new Ferraris have made their preference known.
I said almost exactly that in the Ferrari owners group on Facebook. The 430 was the first Ferrari I drove that was better with f1.... After that, forget about it! Modern car, modern gearbox.
BullS**t! You've all been baffled by b/s.and multi electronics, and car companies telling you that if you don't have ABS,traction control, multi airbags, cars that park themselves FFS,you're doing the wrong thing by getting behind the wheel.! So much of new cars has taken away the raw driver imput that it'll eventually turn you all into passengers in your own car. FFS how smart are the things. https://www.sfgate.com/news/article/tesla-fatal-crash-lawsuit-florida-door-handle-14556744.php
Bit of a surprise to hear that Herbert Appleroth ( the Ferrari Australia CEO ) left Ferrari Australia earlier this week. He had been in the role since 2013, when Ferrari took over distribution from ATECO.
