I believe this is 268SP #0798, the best sounding car I ever heard/drove, yes I don't say that lightly, it's V8 sounds incredible, better than any V12, as though Disney had researched how to create the most evocative sixties racing car sound and came up with that howl. I first rode in it with Bill Noon near Symbolic then drove it near Silverstone in may of 1998 for my two or three part Cavallino article, got lots of good juicy research for that one. Thanks to BC for the drive and for hosting me in London, a memorable time.
And yes it was offered by RM at Monterey a few summers ago but for once they marketed it poorly, too few people know what it is and appreciate it, so it did not sell. A great pity because it was a pivotal time in Ferrari's early rear mid engined sports prototype days before they dared put a V12 in the back.

This is a very handsome car until your eye catches the windshield. I have always wondered if it started life with this windshield. john
