So, how long can this Lamar Jackson experiment go on?
He can't take the beating for ever. His body is going to give out at some point. And, what are the Ravens without him?
Aha. The RG3 dilemma. Yeah. He's rushing even more this year than last. I checked out Steve Young, who was a running QB back in the day. 50 attempts/yr for 14 years. Similar height and weight to Jackson. Jackson is about double that or 100 rushes per year. RG3 had similar number of rushes per game as LJ in his first 2 years; near identical height and weight. Cam was also 100 att /yr. Took him 8 years or so to break down, but Newton is essentially an LB body playing QB. So, putting all these random factoids together, I give LJ about 3 or 4 years until injury catches up with him if he doesn't become more of a pocket passer! T
Intetestingly, RG3 is now the backup QB at Baltimore. Didn't know that. So, if anyone can advise young Mr Jackson on the potential dangers of being a rushing QB, it'd be Griffin...T
Damn Tom, you went and did some research. lmao. Good stuff. Don't forget Newton is now a Vegan so there's a lot of speculation that and his injuries are related.
I'm a scientist, it's what we do. Plus, I don't want Ace to get on my case for using insufficient data! I read a few Cam/vegan stories after you mentioned it. LMAO. He needs to go full carnivore like the GOAT! Image Unavailable, Please Login T
This must be pretty serious. I really like Cris, Jenna and Nick together. They have a good rapport. And I liked Nick from his days at 610. https://www.pennlive.com/sports/2019/11/cris-carters-stint-at-fox-sports-is-over-but-why.html This tweet did make me laugh though. That was a tough loss for the Chargers. After they dominated the Packers last weekend, it looked like they may have turned their season around....only to lose a heart-breaker.
True. But they had 3 timeouts and a little over a minute to go IIRC. Then got 7 or 9 plays due to the penalty in Raiders. And with all that, Rivers didn't move them very far. They took out Gordon, and Rivers seemed as if he was going to throw the ball only to Allen come hell or high water. Heck, with 2 point deficit, they only needed a field goal...T
Rivers was erratic all night. LAC lucky that Raiders' linemen committed penalties to offset Harris' 3rd INT and also Raiders' 12 penalties for over 100 yards. Love Jacobs, he wasn't even an everydown back at Alabama but he looks like a stud rookie RB just hope he doesn't wear down with all the touches he's getting this season. Had Waller as TE1 in Fantasy too, he didn't get as many looks seemed like Carr was going to Renfrow or Rishard.
Am I wrong to think the Redskins could have easily handled this whole Trent Williams thing in a much better fashion? https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/28036330/redskins-elect-not-pay-trent-williams-51m-salary
Nice story on Jacobs before the TNF game. I didn't catch it all, because I was at a work function. Sounds like the kind of guy you can root for...T
I thought I read that he had a cancerous growth on head that they caught just in time and that he couldn't put on his helmet?!? I saw this online when trying to figure out how long he's played for Skins... Image Unavailable, Please Login In light of all those accomplishments, sounds like bush league move by the Redskins...T
Guarentee Trent lawyers up, and he opens up the can of worms and the other player will come out. He's not the only one questioning the medical staff there.
Notice this is released on a Friday afternoon. They're hoping this doesn't get talked about next week.
Seems they knew about his condition for 6 years, but told him it was minor. Yikes. Fortunately, it seems to be relatively treatable as far as cancers go...T
Yeah good point. I didn't know about it until reading this thread. Very shady of the Redskins organization...it makes them look pretty bad. I'm glad I sided with the Ravens when I used to live in the area rather than the Redskins...Ravens treat their players well even with all the off field trouble they generated. An old coworker of mine in DC used to call the team the Washington Foreskins...think I may start using it now for them too.
How does the NFL not have a third party checking in on every teams medical staff and interview players? That seems like a solid CYA move.
Yep he and his family were homeless for a period when he was growing up. While DFSP can mimic a benign growth such as a pilar cyst which is what the Skins suspected, a biopsy would have taken 10 minutes requiring only local anesthesia. Hindsight is 20-20. I wonder about the quality of medical care Alex Smith received and whether this contributed to his abysmally protracted recovery?
