It looks perfect like that. I have been driving my Maranello foe six houres today too. Hard to quit this habit......
Image Unavailable, Please Login Very cold this morning Car was left outside and there was plenty of frost on it Let it warm up before driving off One thing to remember Always fill up the day prior Had to use the manual system to open gas cap! It would not pop open It was so cold on the road that the water temp barely came off the peg when I was at speed Heater worked like a champ Love the tires Almost home Tomorrow the last day A deer almost ruined my day in Pennsylvania It got within 5 feet of the edge of the interstate and backed off It’s a shame people don’t drive these cars more often That’s it for now Last leg of the journey tomorrow Figure I put over 2000 miles on it in one week

Sounds good Clyde, mine has just been storaged for the long winter period up over here..., honestly, don't like the car to come in contact with the ever present salty roads for the forthcoming months..Mine has just done half of your miles, but just don't have the time to drive my cars more frequently..... Jürgen
Did 2712 miles in 8 days Just got home and wash the crud off it Have a small stone chip in the windshield that will be fixed on Monday Car ran great Went over 36k with it In retrospect those who don’t drive there cars make it easy for those of us to buy low mileage cars at a fraction of the price Too bad for them I say Thanksgiving trip to New Orleans coming up soon Until then Get your car on the road It’s going up in value, and neither are you!
I understand But the salt can be washed off The car has an excellent under tray which protects the bottom of the vehicle Glad I have the F-1 tranny The low temps I saw would have made shifts a chore A good friend of mine who deals in used cars says Ferrari owners want a car with less than zero miles on it! Until then Happy holidays my friend
Fantastic write up and trip! Wish I could do this myself, however, mine just received the Full Monte in service and is now fast asleep for the winter Crazy cold up here -15 c about 5 F over night and a nice dumping of snow to go along with it. So it begins, the longing for next driving season... I will live vicariously through your trips, look forward to your Thanksgiving write up
Glad you had a great long trip! A Maranello will almost never let you stranded along the road and it is ultra reliable. And speaking of driving... I feel that to have a Ferrari like that and not drive it is like having a sexy girlfriend and never have sex with her. That car is the fruit of «life during transporting yourself». You become what you eat. But you also become what you drive! Image Unavailable, Please Login
don’t get me started on that! Anyway I had a saying A 575 was like a super model in a dress from Sears You knew what was being covered up! have a two trips planed to New Orleans before the end of the year worst fear is a flat tire ride hard and fast my friend It’s ashamed that more owners don’t drive the car But it’s there loss and the insurance companies gain!!!
Defiately true. You can be lucky as an American with the car culture you have got over there. Here in Europe, more and more restrictions become common. Everything for the environment as it was some kind of religion. In Oslo, the communists take over more and more. It is recently proposed by the left wing parties that gas and diesel should get a 0,8 dollar increase to motivate people to buy electric cars instead which now account for over 50% of all new car sales in Norway. Tollroads are about 10 dollar to drive in and out of Oslo, and there are no alternative roads around the tolls. Here in France, the tolls are on the highways, and they cannot make the tolls If there are no alternative roads that are free. People are discussibg like hell on Facebook, and all info you find on the net are either political propaganda or false reports. What is environmentally friendly or not is impossible to make certain. It is like a decees that wipe over the country. Electric cars are completely tax free, but fuel cars pay about 70-160 % tax then they are imported. Other countries are following. So the way the world is moving is definately not towards V12 Ferraris. Great normal fuel-cars a couple of years old become worth next to nothing. But they outlast electric cars. So it becomes a dilemma what to choose. Oslo is almost closed for car traffic and the parking lots are exchanged with flours in boxes in the middle of the streets. I am not joking. Several countries have a rating in the car’s documents staying which class of environmentally friendliness they have (Umweltsplakette in German) and in many cities, the gas guzzlers are forbidden to drive on the streets. This is the reality right now. Only five years ago, people would think you were braindead if you believed in **** like that. Well it have just happened. Freedom is limited. SO, people who think they can enjoy their Ferrari in 10 yrs or more, might get a surprice! That is a fact. But in America and many other places, things have not come that far. Yet. And I hope it will not happen. But to save a Ferrari for later is outright crazy in my opinion. And no speedlimit on German Autobahn might disappear too. Let’s hope not. But I can at least say to my grand children in 30 years that we had fun going 200 mph. legally. Amen
Sorry too hear Europe is changing It use to be we the US drivers were envious of the continent and the cars and roads Now it looks as if the tables have turned so to speak Stay well my friend Enjoy what you have I am I turn 70 next year Will celebrate at SPA for the formula one race ! I am a huge F-1 fan Can’t wait for the the Dutch F-1 GP to return Have many Dutch friends to catch up with Until then Paddle up and accelerate hard!!! Clyde in the US
Call this girl and she will take very good care of your 512 TR on its way over to Europe for your upcoming F1 trip, and vacation down to Monte-Carlo. I invite you for dinner in the country of fast cars. Monaco. 70 years of adrenaline, speed, passion and life must be great!! The 512 (or 575) needs to strech its legs. My MSW buddy John Cribb (cribbj)helped me celebrate my 80th at the Japanese Grand Prix in 2013 in the Ferrari hospitality suite in the paddock club.
Word of caution The hood struts on a 575 when cold will NOT STAY UP So be very careful if should encounter very cold weather and you have to raise the hood Be prepared for the hood not to stay up
just got the windshield chip repaired and checked the oil have to raise the car and check my left front wheel when I was crossing the GWB going into NYC I ran over something with the left front wheel I don't think I bent it but I need to have a look see I have the car up to triple digit speeds on the way home for a bit and didn't have any vibration of note but it needs a post flight inspection before the next run to new orleans for the holidays for sure and a good walk around so far its Code One no discrepancies ok this is one for those who drive the car how do you check for clutch slippage? in other words to see if the clutch is going bad on my 512 TR if you down shift into 3rd from speed and it bites you know the clutch is good I have down shifted with the F-1 575 tranny from 5 to 3rd and it seems to bite like my 512 TR this clutch has 10k on it now I hear so many stories on clutches wearing out oh well maybe I will be the test dummy on this looking to hear from those on how long there clutches have lasted
