Ohh no if you remove the airbox you'll bend the valves, I saw a video on that once it was like 62 parts. #Superducefellow or something that... I can't recall exactly so appoligies if I got it wrong. On the plus side hoovie too can stick the 1970 Batman type splash tags to draw clicks. Should be interisting Sent using FerrariChat.com mobile app
What a POS. I know the car. Knew about it several years ago. $35k was way to much, for bad seats, bad carpet, bad paint, you name it! That damn dash and window switch crap is a joke. But he does this for a living, not for the quality of the car. Still only a $20k car!!! And to pay $9k on an engine out for that car and have issues and to take to Ferrari of Atlanta to still fix. The owner before Hoovie we super screwed. I am never going down the Ferrari Tax path again. Done! I sold my GTB and bought a BMW Series 1 M and a ZR1 and still have money left over I love Hoovie. Love his new garage and his schtick, but the absolute biggest waste of $35k on a car ever.... And it still had issues on way home after all the time in the shop! I love the people on here. Good peeps, good stories, but done with the cars at any price or size of my wallet. Cheers! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Good man, you do what works for you! Glad you found something that fits your needs etc. The 355 was never going to be the next 993. If one can't enjoy it for what it is time to move on, sounds like what happened so good time ahead we presume? Make a post and show the new whips! Were all car folk. Howdy Rob, Taking a break from the wonderful world of the 355 GTS??? I still have mine. 21 years of "The Agony and the Ecstasy". I need more Ecstacy. Cheers, Marc BTW- Tyler Hoover is one of the few YouTube goofs that I can watch on occasion. The "Wizard" portion of his videos is where I click on something else. @spiderscott Ratarossa Consistently puts out great Ferrari content on YouTube.
M arrives Wednesday. Will shoot a pic as it gets off truck. I have been on FChat since 2010 and will always be around. I loved my 355’s just not enough for 20 plus year relationship My wife wins that award only Cheers! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Almost 100K miles and has a recent full service at a Ferrari dealer, all for $35k. What makes it a POS?
1) ****ty exhaust hack welded 2) Leaking TS Top 3) Hits a bump and loses gauges 4)Heater does not work - stuck Tstat 5) window switch moved to center console. 6) Hack job console out of plywood 7) 3 different types of carpet 8) Crappy seats 9) Terrible repaint - huge devaluation 10) Questionable 30k service by independent requiring more work and money 11) Casting Flaw in block welded up - rigged 12) slow down lights on after 30k service and additional cost could not make a 1300 mile trip without issue 13) Gawd awful floor mats 14) Bastardized 100k mile car that that has been abused for years by people trying to save money and then getting abused by poor tech work - who the hell welds a universal fit pipe into a Ferrari ;-( There is more and I could double the list if I was standing at car. 167k mile 355 sat on lawn in Phoenix a few weeks ago, looked brand new per reports from Robb and was a multi award winner. But I could be wrong ?!?!?! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Why do you hate this car so much? At 98k it’s given much more joy than the vast majority of Ferraris; I’m glad to see it hasn’t been put out to pasture.
The car has covered a lot of ground but hasn't been maintained up to the highest standards. Now it will be YouTubed until something expensive breaks, Then it will be sold to another less established YouTuber. How far can and will it go??? It is a ratty 348 that did give it's all. Unfortunately, things will most likely be headed downhill fast for ZFFFG36A4L0086653. YMMV
Where did the word hate come from? It is a POS, but that does not equal hate to me. Lots people rolling around in hoopties, LOL. I am sure the seller is thanking his lucky stars he bailed out on the car for $35k. Tyler was a savior. It is a $20-25k car. $30k in receipts for repairs is not a lot of joy either, LOL. Soooooo many more good buys for $35k. Probably not a Ferrari though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Everyone wins. Seller sold the car. Tyler gets a new car for ad/sponsor revenue. Viewers get more videos. Hopefully it doesn't get loaned out as mentioned earlier in the classified thread for obvious historical reasons.
Agreed. Thanks for re-centering the storyline. In the end, you are 100% correct. Cheers! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
That's the name of the game, entertainment. The car is a prop at this point. The saga continues. I hope the car goes 250K miles. As I mentioned before, I like most of Tyler's stuff, but the "Wizard" is no Ferreri tech. He did do a great job on Tyler's 355, though. I like what @spiderscott / Ratarossa does in his videos so much more because it is all hands-on. Guys that buy cars and write checks without any knowledge of the cars they buy pretty much guaranty the outcome of every purchase.
All good. Sorry I “stoked and coals.” I did not mean to offend. Just calling it like I see it. I am intensely jealous of Tyler, LOL. I been doing his show privately in Dallas for nearly 25 years. I don’t have his schtick or slightly millennial computer/YouTube talent. My list of cars and auto experiences is epic - in my own head, LOL. But I have shared the car hobby and over 400 cars in that 25 years. Who knew I could have made “sick” coin carrying a camera around as I did it, LOL Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Didn't offend me any; not my car. Was just curious about the hubbub. 400 cars in 25 years!?!? All your personal cars?
