Hi Ed Sorry to say but plate "Roma 127007" is a bit too early for an Ellena as it is from 1949. You would need a plate in the range "Roma 230000" to "Roma 300000" (for 1956 to 1957). Just generally: you can buy perfect reproductions from these guys: https://www.targheetarghe.it/it-it/p/1/azienda Marcel Massini
OKKKKKK, got it, u are correct, it was registered to a fiat 500C car of the yr 49. I have the registration for this. The later plates are a little smaller as well - easier to find the frame for as well. We have a similar plate reproduction here in USA, maybe ill make a PROVA plate and use that for the car. IT is just for show presentation Thank you for the info....
This Prova plate is perfect. By the way, thank you for restoring this beautiful Ferrari with such a taste for detail and not turning it into another FAKE 250 Passo Corto or FAKE 250 GTO. Thank you for that. And this is one of the best threads here.
I appreciate all the advise, support from the F-Chat community WW Anxious to finish this......down to the wire - registered for Cavallino 2020
side door glass installed - test fit, these are new glass pieces i made, tempered and etched with the logo ill disassemble the mechanisms and now glue in the glass to the lift rail etc....i have all the adjustment points marked out on the tape, so the reinstall should be straight forward - i hope! also stamped the new air cleaner tag with the correct codes etc Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I'm sure that'll buff out. It's the green tint seen nowadays on some vintage-era Ferrari glass that's usually more problematic (costly ?) to correct.
Well, one day of progress, day and half backwards. Finally and i dont know why, i finally got one side window in and adjusted and it stayed adjusted. Multiple tries, frustration, 2 bottles of wine and a fresh mind this am - I got one done and in. Love to look of new glass...might be hard to tell in the pics, but the driver side is IN! Tomorrow will be the passenger side - i hope!
forgot to add the side glass pics - and got rid of the blue tint - did not seem to please the crowd! added pic of the factory logo that i duplicated into the glass - we made the artwork and then laser etched it onto the glass simple process, but getting the artwork dead nuts on took a while. will get the other door done today! not sure what happened with the attached files?? Usually when i upload they come right up - will investigate
OK , researched this pic thing and found out that my new iPhone IOS 11 update uses a new compression picture process - HEIC. So if u updated your I phone you will get this automatically - u can turn it off in the settings and resort back to the Jpeg style which this site supports. Seems F-Chat may not support the new HEIC and you get the results i got in my last post. I went in my iPhone and resorted back to the orig jpeg, so we will see if that take s care of the picture posting issues. The new compression is a good thing, they say - saves space and compresses the pics without damage to the image quality. Ill post some later today
