Anyone have the pic of this car with an airbag-less dash? Was pretty unique and still the only one I’ve seen till this day. Rather odd really, but beautiful! If you have the pic, please upload! Need it for reference :).

I had been looking for this thread for a while, both as a reference as well as curiosity.
I tried plugging the original link in those internet page history vaults to no avail
Wonder where it went? Sucks we never got a vin, and I never got a reply from emails.
I believe someone may have successfully contacted him, maybe they still have his email?

That’s it! Wow, that makes 2 cars! I guess this confirms this did in fact arrive from the factory this way. Most likely the very first batch of 355’s.

Was a US car all along. was a challenge clone with a motec ECU and airbags taken out and the dash recovered on the passenger side, had a homemade plate filling the hole. Nothing special at all

It was black, but definitely had a big brake kit. I remember the picture of it sitting on a sloped driveway with a brick behind the rear tire and I remember it having challenge wheels. I suppose one could have removed the brakes.
Any one here is the one i got the picture from https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1996-ferrari-f355-12/ , you'll notice the seller is " plugzit" which is a well known member here

gotcha. So was not a factory dash. This confirms it. Was well executed.

Motec Ecu was working well? Challenge bumpers?

Motec was running like poop, super rich with the exhaust valve closed. Get rid of that wonky exhaust valve open exhaust and tit would have been a real runner. maybe it was at one point. Motec was the early style from 1995 or so. I think re pop challenge bumpers not OEMs

    :)

non-airbag cars have a glovebox on the instrument panel and basically look identical to airbag equipped cars

Looks like you have a euro car? You've got some extra stuff going in the back of the center console. Interesting

Believe it or not, a Californian car since birth, just heavy mods, indented fenders, 430 wheels/tires, F40 brakes...& totally Europeanized. I don’t want to hijack the thread, so one old Image Unavailable, Please Login photo.

Was your "storage" airbag a conversion or came originally with the car? Original Ferrari indented fenders or stamped elsewhere?

Yes, everything is non-factory, but mainly OEM. The best thing is the custom “center console”. You can take it out or put it in, in seconds. It’s really nice storage & helps me get in & out of the car. It’s a nice arm rest also. I’ll take some photos later.

It goes through DOT and they approve it.

I have a Euro 355 and its legal on US roads.
