They are beautiful cars. One of the best automotive designs ever. However, by todays standards they are an under performing car. Pretty much any new economy car would out perform it in every catagory. Never the less, it is and always will be one of the best series of cars Ferrari has ever built.
He says that "prices have returned to sensible levels" So he is telling us that a 308 should never be priced more than a new Jeep Cherokee. Nice.
Unfortunately he is right. That new jeep Track Hawk will destroy any current Ferrari for less the 1/2 the price. The 308 series is a beauty no doubt, but unfortunately have become an annoyance to drive.
Who buys a 308 for its performance ? Seriously. Explain in detail exactly how he is right about its value, how it is tied into its performance.
so is a 1.2m 1957 sl300 It’s not about the power and speed when dealing with the older cars, and you of all people know this. it’s about that snap shot and point in time. For those that want new/ modern ... the options have become endless. Wait when you age a little more ... you are gonna love a full size suv even more
New to the forum and to the world of Ferrari.. Apologize if resource are available I am not familiar with yet. I am looking into a potential purchase of a 1989 328 GTS with ~50,000. Are there any resource you can suggest to help determine what the fair market value is? Car is in excellent condition with 25 years of service history, accident free, all original. Thank you
I just do not get the “ any modern economy car will out run it” , “ a Camry is faster” etc etc. Modern cars will outrun just about any car from 30 or 40 years ago. So what!? If it’s all about speed everyone should just get Teslas and always buy the newest cars.
If you consider a 1979 Corvette, and the HP it produced, the 308 was right there with it and other sports cars of the era. The 308 is just a simple, fun, and pretty car to drive. They're small by some standards, pretty comfy (with a few mods made), and are reliable as all get out. And to the masses it's still a Ferrari. Or "The Magnum" Ferrari as so many people refer to it as. You just have to take it for what it is.
Nowadays celebrities are tiktokers or youtubers, I am not surprised he could be defined as such, especially because he is an "old fashioned" celebrity. Glad he owns also a QV
I will never get it, why "celebrity owned" should justify any premium price. Celebritiy cars are notorious for being the most worn and neglected. Best from Germany Martin
Maybe not in this case since, according to the description, he was the mechanic of Micheal Schumacher and into Formula 1 and cars from many years
I love rock music and the Stones. But rockstar pre-owned cars are the worst scrapheaps. I remember, when Keith Richards entered his 288GTO after a TV-interview seriously drunken. Best from Germany Martin
Not even for what's inside I hate, when aged so called popqueens don't recognize, when it's time to disappear. Best from Germany Martin
