Pista - Combines the elegance of the 488 GTB, with track focused enhancements and a powerplant to match. Simply magnificent!

458 Speciale all the way. Just a piece of art. Will hold it's value also better in the long run than any of the others listed. You'll see.

458 SA. Perfection. Maybe I'll get one someday if prices continue to drop. Something about those buttresses is just awesome to me, and the front of the Speciale is just that bit nicer than the feminine front of the Italia.

My opinion is 458 Italia (purity and beauty) v Pista coupe (brutality and a statement of purpose).

I can't help thinking that a track-oriented model should only be a coupe. It just doesn't make sense to make such car as a spider. Really! Think it through... what's the point?

You may be 100% correct. But since when does buying Ferrari's and Logic go together? :)

I’m a coupe man, but consider that many of the great Ferrari race cars were open top, including today’s F1 cars.

People often say this, but I'm not entirely sure it's the right angle.
People call them race versions or track versions, but frankly, they are neither. They are still exotic sports cars mainly for the road, and as such, a drop top makes perfect sense. Yes it's more focused and "raw", but still very friendly and comfortable all things considered. I think anybody who sees a Pista or Speciale as a pure bred track monster, needs to get into a real race car. A GTE or GT3 for instance. The VS cars are versions of their normal counterparts where everything is turned up to 11. That's what makes them brilliant and that's why they work. I'd hate for Ferrari to start giving the VS cars the same treatment as the Senna, because it would be borderline useless. I once drove a 430 Challenge for two days on public roads as part of a silly wager, and that absolutely sucked. I haven't driven a Senna, but from a relatives first hand back-to-back test between a Senna and the Mclaren GT4, they were very close, and not far from the Challenge cars either. This is not what the Pista is, and thank god for that. It's a brilliant street car that can lap a track blisteringly fast and make for an awesome track weekend. This goes for both the Spider and Berlinetta version, and most will not even be able to push either car to where it matters. They are so close in performance so all it would take, is a tiny mistake to lose 0.5-1 second, and boom, the Spider runs a faster lap.
Is that the same as saying normal people cannot enjoy the added precision of the fixed hat version? Of course not, but it's important to remember that these drop tops have now gotten so good, that it is possible to fully enjoy the open air experience from a topless VS beauty.

To me the F8 has it all but I love my 488 GTB.

But the be all and end all would be a custom Pista. All leather , no stripe , no carbon, the SF90 4 litre engine and the new 8 speed gear box, and F8 interior upgrade. Plus glass engine hatch. Now that would be a car.

Oh one more thing an Aluminium front bonnet none of this carbon fibre

I love the Pista, but I never liked stripes. Having said that, like stripes or not, the Pista looks odd without them. The F8, to me, incorporates all the great design features of the previous models without stripes. It’s the ideal look.
