I'm still smarting from my silly rejection of the car. I was invited to test drive it at Autobahn Joliet and drove my CGT to that track from my house in Lake Forest (about 45 miles on I-294). Driving the CGT on virtually empty tollway, no cops in sight, it was like some wet dream situation and I enjoyed that drive like never before. When I finally got behind the wheel of 918 in a controlled situation on the track, the car felt quick but boring and unengaging, too computerized and high tech after my own car. Refused to go ahead with the purchase, stupid move on my part looking back..... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yes, a year later. I explained my reasons at the time, to recall in a short way, selling it was the last thing I wanted but my son was at a rehab in California at $2100/day with $1800 testing every 3rd day. After 7 months of that money drain (no insurance help), I really started to feel the burden on my finances. I decided (at the time), my family welfare was more important then my hobbies, passions and personal gratification.

#829 in its original factory-delivered form, with the rarely optioned "Without Paint (Only Matte Black Film Wrap)". The car has since been refinished in Porsche's Grey Black Image Unavailable, Please Login
Who refinished the car? Did it become this one which was passed around? I always thought that the original owner who posted the picture specified the car that way from the factory. https://www.instagram.com/p/BiXxILwHc-1/
That is the car as it sits now, yes. Not sure on the details of who did the refinish. Assuming it is new paint (as opposed to a new wrap) based on comments I've seen only. Video of the car as originally delivered: Window sticker detailing the original options (inc. the Without Paint / Matte Black Wrap option): Image Unavailable, Please Login Interestingly the car was later advertised by Merit Partners with a new build sheet that showed PTS "Grey Black" so perhaps this car was repainted at the factory. Can't be sure.
918 Spyder #916, the third to last car (and perhaps the final USA car?). This car recently had a Miami Blue (or similar) wrap on it, but has since been returned to its original GT Silver. Image Unavailable, Please Login
