    How do guys get the flames from the exhaust when revving their motors? Is it fake, does it harm anything? Just wondering.

    Drive it like you stole it, red line every gear change in sport / race, Blip the throttle on down shifts.
    No its not fake, and it sure as hell is fun.

    It's not a good thing, it means your engine is not burning all the fuel in the combustion chamber in the cylinder.

    Now on a jet fighter it means the pilot is using the afterburner(s), and that is a good thing if you need speed.

    To the best of my knowledge, no stock Ferrari shoots flames, although it’s easy to make that change. Inefficient, but fun.
