Well, when can I come and visit?
They're still planning on May 1 for at least a soft open. Not sure which places will be ready, but I heard that some are taking reservations. I certainly am praying that we get this back on track by then.
I personally think our whole summer & fall is shot, obviously, we will have a massive 2nd wave of infections if they lighten up on the restrictions too soon.
I’ve written about three rants and deleted them all. I can’t remember which thread it was but Bob “The Mayor” started a thread and put it perfectly. I don’t have the patience to look for it right now. All of this is just really F’ing stupid. The Mayor’s thread was easier to find than I thought......IMO he expresses my thoughts perfectly...I thought that could only be done by Hannity. lol https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/is-avoiding-corona-virus-a-personal-responsibility.618914/ I did drive down the strip earlier this week. So odd to see about 20 people on the entire length of the strip. Side benefit.....it didn’t smell like weed. This cowering at home needs to end and we need to get back to it.
Back in early Feb I was looking to book a trip to Vegas around spring break...glad I didn't book anything and have to deal with refunds/credits. I really hope things open up...I'm dying to go to Tacos El Gordo (my favorite tacos and best in the US imo) and check out what's changed as I haven't been in over 10 years. I live in AZ now so it's much closer and previously was east coast.
I believe some hotels are taking reservations starting June 1. But the problem is the Governor is taking a hard line. So, who really knows.
Probably another person who is able to work from home so he’s disconnected from the real world where 20+million people are out of work and need to get back to supporting and feeding their families.
Of course, why? Have you not listened to the experts say over and over this winter could be a massive 2nd wave?
disconnected from the real world? Who? Me? I own a software company with 170 employees, most are working from home now but I'm still out every day. Are you guys that poor where you have to go back to work? Seriously, who would ever put health over money?
2nd wave: https://www.npr.org/sections/coronavirus-live-updates/2020/05/06/851190730/a-majority-of-americans-are-still-susceptible-to-coronavirus-khan-says Plus now there are 19 new strains, this baby is just getting started.
Elitist anyone??? The vast majority of people in the world are SO POOR that they have to work for a living. As far as putting 'money over health', it is hard to be healthy if you can afford food.
I'm not trying to start an argument with anyone, I get it, I'm as healthy as they get, I'm not concerned about getting covid-19, I'm most concerned about me being the person who gives it to someone with an underlying condition or an elderly person who won't be able to recover. In the meantime, I'll stay humble and respectful to my elders but there is no doubt a bigger 2nd wave is coming, 1st wave of the Spanish flu killed 3-5 million, the second wave killed 50 million, does anyone really wonder why?
Is it 1919? I thought we learned a bit about how to treat and combat infectious diseases in the last 100 years. Getting back to the OP Some restaurants (a few) are opening this week at 1/2 occupancy but none in hotels. I think most were caught with only 3 day notice to get everything ready and are waiting to get everything in order. The hotels haven't announced when they will open but it seems like some want to be open for Memorial day if the state lets them. And some hotels shut down actually before the Governor issued Stay at Home orders. They may keep staying shut just because its unprofitable with only a few customers and restricting the casino to only 50% occupancy. Add that to all conventions have been cancelled until September. Starting next week you can get a haircut in Vegas again. No bars unless they are licensed to sell food. No hotel restaurants because the hotels are not open yet. No malls unless outdoors. No shopping inside stores. IMO at some point there will be an official "Vegas is open again" extravaganza. When? Maybe September when the Raiders play -- even if its in an empty stadium.
Then where is the cure for covid-19? Guess what, there is none at this time and it's about 1 year out. Any questions?
Actually, no, comparing states (in USA) and countries that never locked down, there will be no second wave. In fact, the more we start to normally interact the better off we will all be. With the realizations worldwide that nearly all terminal cases were those in long-term-care and on their way to meet their maker, we have been scammed out of our liberty and freedom for apparently nefarious purposes.
Funny but I only asked you if medical treatment had improved in 100 years and for some reason, you fail to accept that.
Good round-up of what is happening on the remedy front: https://www.laboratoryequipment.com/563201-COVID-19-Treatment-Update-Remdesivir-Hydroxychloroquine-Leronlimab-Ivermectin-and-More/ Leronlimab is looking solid: https://www.targetedonc.com/view/leronlimab-shows-further-promise-for-covid-19-treatment-study-shows importantly: “These transcriptomic findings further underscore the potential impact of leronlimab- mediated CCR5 blockade on the inflammatory state in COVID-19,” the authors wrote. “In summary, we show here for the first time, involvement of the CCL5-CCR5 axis in the pathology of SARS-CoV-2, and present evidence that inhibition of CCL5 activity via CCR5 blockade represents a novel therapeutic strategy for COVID-19 with both immunologic and virologic implications.” further details: https://www.cytodyn.com/newsroom/press-releases/detail/426/manuscript-describes-how-cytodyns-leronlimab-disrupts importantly: Nader Pourhassan, Ph.D., President and Chief Executive Officer of CytoDyn said, “We are now most hopeful the entire medical community will understand the potential benefit leronlimab can provide critically ill COVID-19 patients. Moreover, this discovery by Dr. Bruce Patterson that leronlimab decreases plasma viral load may have tremendous long-term positive ramifications to bring this pandemic under control. We are grateful that we are able to release this research at such a critical time for patients throughout the world.” keep an eye on this one: https://cen.acs.org/pharmaceuticals/drug-development/emerging-antiviral-takes-aim-COVID-19/98/web/2020/05
And how is that a question from this statement? It's not, you asked if it was 1919. Any questions? Image Unavailable, Please Login
