About to do a service on an '08 599 and the owner has asked what can be done to increase the cars performance? I saw notes on Fabspeed bypass pipes.

Well, what's the budget? Thats my first question, there are many relatively "cheap" options available. The 599 engine is basically an Enzo engine, "retuned" (de-tuned) to give a different torque curve and characteristic. It all depends on the budget, if its large enough, he can have the HGTE package put on the car, plus, headers, exhaust, hi-flow cats, etc. You could even go as far as a Novitec bi-compressor option. I have driven a 599 that has been setup with the Enzo's engine management and internals, that has over 660HP. You can go as small as changing the air filters to a more aggressive after market set, adding some hi-flow cats, and changing out the exhaust and you will see a noticeable uptick in power.

No particular budget in mind, will be considering cost/result ratio. The client has a S65 AMG as his daily driver and expects more from the Ferrari than the car in it's stock form.
So anything is up for consideration. I am wondering about acquiring a GTO induction system and HGTE components?

    Hi David,

Our secondary cat bypass pipes are an easy way to increase power and sound. We haven't been able to dyno this part, but we expect an increase of 40+ HP. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!

buddy of mine has one of the most modified 599 locally, KW coilovers, japanese kresiq exhaust....
or a simple HGTE upgrade would be enough.

That can be done, though, there are cheaper alternatives to getting GTO parts.

Really interested in examples in the total range of US 20-30k, replacing secondary cats is the first thing to do, right?

Probably get a good increase if you throw on some fabspeed exhaust products, better intake/filters, ecu tune.

I know... we don't have a clip yet. We have sold quite a few sets, but we haven't installed them here; so no vid yet. We were able to make a fixture for this product without having the car here (just had the secondary cat pipes). I'll let you know if we get a vid. Sorry.

We (NOLA Motorsports) are seriously considering both the 599 package of upgrades along with the Porsche Turbo S Parts. Waiting for our Dyno to come online. Videos for sure when it happens.

Although I have not sampled the in-car sound myself, we have never had any bad feedback regarding the secondary cat bypass pipes. If you keep the factory muffler in place, there should be no drone at all.

sounds like a great idea, did you explore it further?

Fabio's 6-1 headers will do wonders for power. Analog to a GTO 6-1 exhaust, but much less expensive.

Not Fabspeed. Fabio out of Italy. If you search for his name his info is here somewhere and fairly recently.

An S65 AMG will spoil you for immediate power....the low end torque is simply amazing. I don't care what you do to a 599...it's not going to make 738+lb/ft of torque at 2200rpm.

....but your heavy S65 AMG loses 1/4mile for my 1999 Jag XJR....so....:)

I had one of those. Super fun to drive, when it ran. It was the worst car I ever owned.

Not according to every car publication that tested both models....the 1/4 mile isn't even close, much less a 80mph roll on. The Benz TTV12 would eat that XJR for breakfast.

I am not talking about stock Jag, not even slightly modded one. My point was just wondering your first comment about 599 mods which give better throttle response and unbeaten F1 style sound.
