    I have been told recently by a very well respected member of the Ferrari community that cavallino's on the mirrors only came out with the 1989 model and that my mirrors are aftermarket. In a quick 3 minute search of 1988 328's for sale, I found 3 more with the cavallino on the mirrors. I don't want to be disrespectful but is it possible that this gentleman is wrong?

    How many people here have 1988 328's with cavallino's on the mirrors?

    Mine has them as well. March 1988 build date. I think it happened with the “1988.5” changes.

    Mine is a January 1988 build date so that might not be accurate.

    Is it possible that those are now available that got added later down the road as the part numbers are higher than the ones without the cavallino?

    I have several pictures of 328 ( US ans Australian ) after #71597 without cavallino's on the mirrors and some with. The spare parts catalogue should be correct and indicate #75929

    I think several prior owners have changed the mirror to "cavallino model" So many people put additional Ferrari sticker or badge on the dashboard, central console etc...

    Yes, the way the SPC is structured/written 328 from 71597 to 75926? could have either.

    Yes, they are present on my 1986 328 GTS (which is Euro spec and sold originally in France). I believe the question is when was the cavallino on the mirrors introduced to the US versions.

    All euro 328 have Cavallino on the mirrors and I never saw 328 without powered mirrors.

    My old 328 (SN #77353, 88.5 car with convex wheels, but NO ABS) also had the Cavallino on the side mirrors.
