I am going to disagree with you there. The number plates don't make the car. This car makes the car. The 550 Barchetta is the best looking Ferrari they have built since Enzo's passing. The curves, the V-12, the open top all capture the spirit of the classic roadsters of years past in a modern package.
I agree - that's why I bought mine. And yellow is the best color for the Barchetta, I think. That's a great price. Mine has 50% more miles, but I wouldn't sell it for any amount close to what you're asking. But I'm biased, and pretty much wouldn't sell it anyway.
What I meant was that because the car is numbered, one would know in fact how many of these were actually built. Agree with you on everything you said. I own the twin and love every second of driving it.
Quite a few modern F cars are just not good looking. Don't care for a video game dash. In addition the manual gate is nice to have. Too bad some of the owners are just a caretaker for the next owner. Must be fun to just wax it and pass it on.

To paraphrase Jim G., it's like dating a supermodel, paying her exorbitant bills for hairstylist, cosmetician, etc and not having sex with her, saving her for the next guy who will. As for this Barchetta, stunning, stunning beauty of a car and the price is very attractive too. Very tempting, holding too many tails at the moment though and still trying to rebuild my company after that idiocy we had (still have) recently.
You did well. Great time to buy these, fantastic colour. I bought at the top of the market, which hurts, but I had done well on something else and pretty much knew it might be the case. Still, I am keeping mine, TDF blue UK RHD car, so 1 of 42 if I recall correctly, around 8500 miles when bought. I´ve done about 1000 in 2 years. I totally agree with the idea that this captures, at least to some extent, some of the character of the older roadsters, as sixcarb said, particularly the California Spyder.
So you have a hard top or a soft top, they´re both great cars, but the same model, ultimately. I guess you have extra lines with the hardtop though, but they´re both lovely cars imo, not much between them
I don’t understand why folks buy these great cars and then just park them?! I have had a 550 in Italy for 22 years now just for vacations. It has over 80,000 miles on it and every time I get behind the wheel my heart screams out with joy; just love it!
