Gents Any history you can share about VIN #ZFFFC33AXK0082511? I’m about to take plunge and have been reading all there is to know about the car including all your wisdom posted here. Don’t have to make it pretty, just the facts.. Incaico
For starters, the steering rack has a leak. And black leather convertibles for southern California? https://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/cars-for-sale/ferrari/mondial/2408756.html
Built a resistance when I drove my MGB with black interior in the 80’s. More importantly, where can I see the info on the steering rack and how serious ($$) is it? Incaico
Try searching here and in the Tech forum. And maybe the F355 as well. Just a reminder... the only Mondial with power steering is the t.
The exhaust on this car is not correct. It has a single oval exhaust pipe for each bank, instead of dual round ones. Maybe an easy fix but I wonder why it is that way and I can't get past the weird look the rear has because of it. Also as you can see in the pictures, front seats are very tired, steering wheel horn area appears askew. The underside has been wacked pretty good that's for sure. Low price and I can see why.
What’s with the speaker grilles at the top of the doors and the area under the shifter gate? I also have a red over black and it’s not that bad and I prefer it to tan. Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat.com mobile app
And the B Pillars are both bad. Maybe it’s time to make more? Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Seems that it was a custom job. Not the best but it works. Need to replace drivers as one is busted You mean the ash tray under shifter gate? Incaico
It’s not normal to see the rubber under the shifter gate. Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat.com mobile app
I saw a post where owner stated that it seemed weird that he felt wind and dust coming in through the gates and another member recommended that rubber boot. Is it supposed to be bootless? Incaico
Very happy to say it’s all mine. My 6th decade BDay present It does need a couple of items, including repairing (rebuilding) a small leak on steering rack and recharging A/C but drove it 75 miles home and it felt strong. Cold starts immediately. No smoke. Drives very straight. Seats need some TLC. As long as there is more to love than not, I’m happy.
Congrats! That's epic. Enjoy it, they are great cars. Leathrique clean then condition the seats, really let it soak in in the heat, and they'll come back.
Yes there is supposed to be a boot in there. Most have dissapeared over the years and you rarely see them. Not sure if that one is correct for mondial but
This is what Ricambi recommends: https://www.ricambiamerica.com/car-diagrams/ferrari/v6-v8/mondial-group/mondial-t/outside-gearbox-controls/145498-boot.html
Well congratulations on your new found car. I am sure you will enjoy bringing it back to superb condition. The power steering rack is a really tough job on that car. It's like cutting your arm off to get your collar bone out.
I say Congratulations! Good for you. Enjoy it with the best of health. Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat.com mobile app
I don’t do things because they’re easy, I do them because they’re hard...As long as I have fun doing it I’m cool
I have a 86 Mondial 3.2 with black leather similar to yours....I use Lexol and have had great results. She is a good looking car. Glad to hear it was your birthday present !
