I've let a few people drive my F355 and I notice despite my instruction they instinctively upshift at around 6k rpm which turns the car into a dog compared to clicking them off near the limiter.

If you don't run the GT3 to it's potential because you have a dislike of seeing the tach sweep past 8k, the F355 will be even worse as it really needs to be ripping that kind of rpm to be fast.

It has no low end/midrange as it's short intake runner, fixed valve timing. You need to be on board with running it out to the limits of it's rpm capability or you may be disappointed.

Having owned both 993 and F355 I would say it would be more similar to your GT3 than the 993 in terms of engine characteristics.
