So good to finally have someone that gets the maximum out of the car. Imagine a Vettel and Kimi combo today--1oth and 12th or 13th versus 2nd. As for the car, I understand it comes with no upgrades--unlike the cars of some of the other teams--but it's still a new-for-2020 car, so very disappointing. Too draggy, bad wind tunnel correlation - if this is true, those are pretty amateur mistakes. The engine is supposed to have been reworked for weight and CG and reliability is good, so maybe they're limiting the on-track performance (?). On the other hand, whatever they changed in the way it operates, looks like they wasted time and energy going down blind alley and probably didn't improve the fundamentals of the engine because the performance of the engine was being flattered by the "DAS" of engine controls.
And yet, still with Renault engines !! It's promising for next year when they will get Mercedes power.
Agree. Any benefit of the high-rake design (which also requires very good platform control, i.e suspension) has to be weighed against the penalty of carrying a higher CG, specifically at the rear--probably why they worked the PU weight and CG. Also, to get the high-rake design to work requires a very good control of the tire-squirt ahead of the rear wheels and nobody is better at this than Newey.

What's the deal with Haas and Brakes? They seem to never figure this out. https://www.planetf1.com/news/haas-double-brake-failure-austrian-gp/
'Been the case down through the "ages" of the sport. 'Always looking for the "least" that will make do. 'Wouldn't be surprised they've some stronger boxes "waiting in the wings" ready to "fly"......
Binotto said in the post-race interview that some minor new parts might be already coming for next week, hopefully that happens. At the same time he admits that getting more straight line speed is a problem they won't solve quickly; pretty obvious when you can't do much to the engine. Honestly speaking the best change for Ferrari is probably to hope for a wet race next weekend, could see SF1000's relatively good corner speed being more of a help in those conditions. Of course they could always hope for Honda and Mercedes engines to self-destruct (based on this race, that's not even entirely impossible).
The sarcasm I used (he already is "hiding" from you) Sheldon, was my curiosity regarding the deal you made with him for "your" support investment. I've not been a Seb fan (nobody in 'ticular since Clark) and I think he's feeling no particular shame considering his accomplishments. Maybe feeling a little down, but that's about it.
Race observations : Albon was screwed out of a win McLaren have a better line up than Ferrari Bottas isn't a doormat , he drove very well Ferrari's car is second tier Can Vettel leave now and we put in the reserve for the rest of the year ?
It was an Alonso circa 2012 type of drive. He was the best driver we’ve had since Schumacher until now. Anyone who argues otherwise is objectively wrong.
Oh well then.....time to shut down the boards. The master hath spoken. Image Unavailable, Please Login I know I'm "objectively wrong", but may I "argue" that perhaps that honor should go to LH.
